Re: Max Porter
Funniest thing I remember concerning Max was when we played away to Eastbourne or Lewes and a Diamond fan ran up Radio Sussex who were covering the match and told them they were pronouncing Porter incorrectly and it should be pronounced Por-tear. Well these two berks proceeded to call him Por-tear until late in the second half when the same fan tried the same trick with another player, who I can't recall, and the commentators realised they had been well and truly had.

Haha, I think we did that to the Ebbsfleet commentators as well. I remember getting them to pronounce Roberts as Robots.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

No that was the same match when the two commentators twigged that they had been duped. You mentioning Dale's name reminded me. I sure it was a match where we well and truly thumped the opposition so it could have been Lewes.Sara Pascoe wrote:Haha, I think we did that to the Ebbsfleet commentators as well. You must've been one of a select few listening to that game on the radio then Trek, since it was live on Setanta Sports! ;)

I think so, and I believe Leon Knight bagged at least one (and Daryl Clare?)bozzer wrote:i went to the Lewes game, it was on a week night 4-0 or something, didn't some of our fans get asked to leave the home end!

Re: Max Porter
Thats Lewes game was on Setanta. Got in from work having recorded the game and watched it like it was live. Leon Knight scored a couple of great goals that night.
Could be wrong but wasn't one of those mispronunciations against Barrow? Maybe the 6-1 game. Perhaps that was the thrashing we're referring to as that Lewes game was a while ago now.

They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
