Hayden Road wasn't up to standard 20 odd years ago causing Rushden Town's demise from the Southern League Premier division with an usable timber stand that still hasn't been demolished.
Have you any suggestions on an alternative venue your way? Of course not, that's why your Club are staring down the gun barrel with little future as well. ;)
If you have 750k, i'm sure you can invest a bit into developing Hayden Road!

Out of interest, what do you as a KTFC fan think of the 'K*ttering and Diamonds' proposal that has reportedly been tabled?
I can't see any benefit to anyone. R&DFC will not be saved, nor will KTFC and a controversial club will be made that in all honesty will struggle to attract anywhere enough fans needed to maintain a BSP club and both trusts will ultimately start looking at phoenix clubs and AFC R&D will be playing AFC K*ttering in the UCL.
But, if it gets rid of the Beasants and Ladaks of this world, it might not be a bad thing. :x

Firstly, we havn't got 750k and if we had it wouldn't make commercial sense developing Hayden Road just to play UCL football. That's why it never happened in 1992!
Secondly, we wouldn't get 400-500 from Rushden to travel to watch a Phoenix club play footie there. People like me living between Corby and Market Harborough wouldn't bother and although I'm only 7 odd miles from the Rockinghorse I wouldn't watch your lot again. I used to over 20 years ago but watching the tripe played under Peter Morris and the debacle under English and Murphy finished me off. I did enjoy my trips to Charlton Athletic (Selhurst Park) and Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup however.
My only option if it went tit's up at Nene Park would be to watch the Steelmen play in their new ground next year.

Is that the best you can do? I've explained that a Phoenix club wouldn't be my club no more than a K*ttering Diamonds wouldn't be your club. I will try to save our Club but I won't travel nearly 25 miles to watch UCL football or even 7 miles to watch BSP football at a sub-standard ground in K*ttering. I was never a fan of K*ttering Town in the 80's just a casual viewer and I stopped watching local football until 2000.

Not looking for a slanging match. Just seems like whilst every R&D fan is doing their best to try and save their club, you're giving it the "CBA" attitude and would just go and watch another Northants side should a phoenix side form, which IMO is the best thing that could happen for you.
Your cowardly and pathetic attitude was present in 92, when Talbot & English messed with us, clearly.
With respect P1882; Come on here crowing all you want, if your 'club' has looked at the prospect of merging with us (as we were informed last night) you're hardly in a position to comment or seem like you've got it all easy.
Unless you're willing to contribute towards saving a football club in Northamptonshire which offers so much, why comment and bring about all these ideas that quite honesty, at this moment in time, aren't on top list of priorities. We have a club to save.
If you look at the threads at a time when KTFC were in trouble, you will witness what it's like to not only be a fan of a football team, but to be a fan of the game of football. Minus a few posters, I believe the majority agreed we would never want to see any club go under, especially not a local rival.
