Re: Prices Dropped!!!!
i've started drinking stella now as the bitter has gone down hill. i know they don't get through it quick enough before it goes off, so with no hand pull i'd like to see bottles of pedigree, spitfire etc.

Re: Prices Dropped!!!!
The bitter's been good as far as I've seen. If they're not moving it fast enough then they need to have less pumps on and drop the price the older the barrel, to get it shifted. The usual deal with breweries is a barrellage deal so the "moving it at a reduced price policy" wont cost the club as much cos it'll have to pay for it anyway. It's better than having wastage. That's also why storing bottles will be a no go.therushden wrote:i've started drinking stella now as the bitter has gone down hill. i know they don't get through it quick enough before it goes off, so with no hand pull i'd like to see bottles of pedigree, spitfire etc.

The fact is that unless they shift a firkin (72 pints) very quickly it usually goes off and becomes undrinkable. Two of Diamonds wrote: It tastes better than it looks, and it's an acquired taste. ;)

No one's disputing that. As I said, the club probably has a barrellage deal, so buying in a pin (36 pints) just to keep it fresh and usable isn't going to work (more waste as well what with pegging and pulling through the pipes). I usually drink the cold IPA (which generally keeps for a bit longer) and I've never had a bad 'un. The problem is that there's not enough people using the bar anymore to keep the stock moving.Trek wrote:The fact is that unless they shift a firkin (72 pints) very quickly it usually goes off and becomes undrinkable. Two of Diamonds wrote: It tastes better than it looks, and it's an acquired taste. ;)
