At least we know that the Russians will welcome players from all over the country with no discrimination

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

I think it's the first time I've ever seen an emotion on Shearer's face. I've always wondered what it would take for that to happen.DiamondsR4ever wrote:Seeing the pain and dissapointment on shearer's face is horrible

Re: Bad news for England
I doubt we will get the world cup in this century, FIFA will probably give it to someone like the Faroe Islands before England. Qatar are hosting the 2022, what the hell is that all about honestly!?

Turns out we got a grand total of two votes in the first round.

Re: Bad news for England
Sepp Blatter - you corrupt shit. It's not a great day for football, it isn't a great day in the history of FIFA, it's a great day for your back pocket, and most of the others in the 'commitee' that is supposed to promote fair play.
We save the world from Nazi's, Napoleon, and the Spanish. We bail out banks from different countries, we pay for help and aid in countries we needn't have anything to do with. We send troops to random countries to keep peace and save lives, we welcome people in to our country that have nowhere else to go when the French leave them in tents, and the world still hates us. We can't even beat Russia.
Pull out of the World Cup, pull out of the Euro's, and pull out of ****ing Eurovision. This disgraceful backlash against our country has gone from being mildly amusing to a complete joke.

Re: Bad news for England
I wearily agree, I'm bored of this happening again and again. One thing that pisses me off is that we're spending fuckloads on the Olympics and if we're all honest no one really gives a shit about Olympic sports for 3 years and 11 months in the Olympic cycle. They only really take a mild interest when it's plastered over the BBC. We should've spent the billions of pounds that we're spending on that on bribing Jack Warner and the rest of those wankers to get something worthwhile, the World Cup.
Leaving FIFA and UEFA now though would look like sour grapes in the extreme, so I'm not sure that we can do it. It also raises the question of what we would do without it. Last thing that pissed me off was seeing Richard Scudamore being interviewed on SSN afterwards, acting like he really cared about the English game. He doesn't care about the English game, he just cares about how much dosh the Premiership makes and if that belittles English football then so be it.
This really reminded me of why, despite loving football, I really hate football. I can count the number of properly good things that have happened to me as a football fan in my lifetime on 1 hand with fingers to spare. I'd need more than 2 hands to count all the shit things that have happened, relegations, play-off defeats, England always losing on penalties etc. I hate it.
Badly constructed rant over. *depressed sigh*
