I'm sure that the official records will show that Crawley have the lowest wage bill in the league, probably half as much as the next lowest. However, we all know that neither Crawley nor Evans do anything by the book.Jemfy wrote:Never really rated him that much, that said he wasn't awful either, and if I remember correctly he also has a perpetual injury (knee?) that keeps causing him to be sidelined.
Still if Evans moans about budget this year with signings like Kuipers (the goalkeeper from Brighton), then it's proof positive that he has indeed always been talking out of his backside, not that I doubted it to begin with.

Re: Crawley
So, that gives them:
Charles Adameno
Liam Enver-Marum
Craig McAllister
Jamie Cook
and supposedly Matt Tubbs.
Very impressive line-up of strikers... but as has been previously mentioned we used to have Daryl Clare, Lee Phillips, Leon Knight (and of course Michael Rankine ;-)) and look where that got us....
If only JE had been the manager at the time of the large wage budget instead of Benny... *sigh*

Re: Crawley
£750,000????? That is mental if true.
Thats bigger than most championship / league one clubs record transfer fee for a player!

Re: Crawley
The fee is believed to be £75k, the BBC got a bit carried away with its Zero's.

It's the unpaid taxes they have available after fiddling the accounts for all these years.Trek wrote:Having been on their uppers for 3-4 years where is all this cash coming from to buy/pay all these players?

Why would we turn down a bid like that? Just numbers flying around at the minute I reckon..
