I think today shed some light on challenges the club has faced in recent times. Both the manager and Connor gave straight and honest answers to the questions asked. As Connor highlighted there are things going on in the background at the moment that aren't signed and sealed so until that happens the club can't make any announcements on any of the changes coming up. There clearly will be a step change due to the recent board resignations and Macca was honest about his reasons for stepping down as club secretary.
It's clear that the forthcoming season will see a rebuild both on and off the pitch.
It was good to hear that the club will be pushing on with plans to establish both youth and ladies football teams that will be fully integrated into the clubs structure. It makes sense and it's a shame it wasn't like that before. One club for all.
There is still clearly discontent from some supporters that what is coming up seems to be a new era of evolution and not revolution but I think we need to consider what possibilities and opportunities lie ahead by developing the Community Interest Company?
The SEND school proposal came out of left field. It's not unique but personally any additional resources that are provided for those with special educational needs and disabilities should be encouraged and supported in my humble opinion.
If I understood correctly the club has identified over 40 jobs that they need volunteers to help with.
Recruiting volunteers is a challenge. Firstly, getting the right person for the job needed and then managing them well so they feel valued. I suggested they create specific volunteer roles so people know what exactly the club needs and the volunteers have the attributes to contribute effectively.
It isn't easy.
There are still many questions that need answers but today was a step forward. I guess we will have to wait to see what is announced.
They need to do more fan forums. As the late great Jock Stein said, football is nothing without the fans.
