Good win on Saturday and positive start to the year, but if we are to really have an impact for the rest of the season and challenge for playoffs, this game is a huge opportunity to send a message to the rest of the league against a team that I would say are pretty nailed on for a top 3 spot. A win would also take us 2 points outside the top 5 as well.
Massive challenge though, we are going to have to be at our best to get something out of this one.

Good point, but is it fair to say that a playoff team wouldn't let a 2-goal lead slip? Two more games against playoff challengers coming up, 4 points needed I think.Olly wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 8:27 pm Good win on Saturday and positive start to the year, but if we are to really have an impact for the rest of the season and challenge for playoffs, this game is a huge opportunity to send a message to the rest of the league against a team that I would say are pretty nailed on for a top 3 spot. Man sent off and goalie felt hamstring so had no goal kicks . Any team will struggle with that , most would lose it .Bob's Bitch wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 4:22 amGood point, but is it fair to say that a playoff team wouldn't let a 2-goal lead slip? Bruno is now the best player ever to put on a afc shirt , what he’s done to this club is amazing. I really think he’s brought an extra 100 fans through the turnstiles, excited youths a new fan base . And if he stays will only bring more to watch us . When’s the statue being built lol

Think I'd go as far as saying Bruno's first half performance was one of the best performances I've seen from a player in AFC's short history, outstanding and close to getting a hat trick. Under no illusions about him being with us long term as he certainly could play at a higher level, but hopefully we can keep him for the rest of this season as he is an invaluable member of the team and I do worry about goals if we don't have him in the team.
Despite letting slip a 2 goal lead and conceding a late equaliser, personally fairly content with a point against a v strong side who did dominate large parts of the game, a win would have been amazing, but there was only one team that looked like scoring in the latter stages of the game and on another day Anstey might have gone on to win the game as well, which would have been unfair on our lads who worked so hard.
How they ended up with more men on the field than us though is beyond me, Anstey are a good side clearly, but a dirty side as well.
