Well those interviews come across as everyone thoroughly pissed off with the second half performance!
10 days to get on the training field and fire ourselves back up.

Just league games now, so we need to get some consistency in our play. I don't expect to win every game but it is the league that defines our season. Our season started well defensively but has faltered of late. Back to basics.diamondblade85 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 8:36 pm Well those interviews come across as everyone thoroughly pissed off with the second half performance!

We appear to be a decent side in most first halves but for some reason fall away in the second. It's an issue that needs addressing because if we're not getting the second goal we're wilting out of games.

I’ve been there before when we played them in the league, but Kidsgrove have a proper nice ground, very scenic too! Attendance stated as 179, (may have been slightly higher than that in reality) but despite that their fans were an absolute credit to their team. Made lots of noise and really spurred their team on in the 2nd half, genuinely made more noise than we do at most home games these days.rickthediamond wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 6:57 pm Decent enough first half, good to get the first goal and we competed well, albeit it probably should’ve been 1-1 with Kidsgrove having a golden chance that they somehow put over the bar.
The second half however, left a lot to be desired. With that said, their very experienced striker Matt Rhead was a class above and not many teams at our level will have players of his quality.
Glad to hear Michael acknowledge that we are causing ourselves unnecessary problems with short set pieces, and that it won’t happen again going forward. The 3rd goal literally came from our throw deep in Kidsgrove’s half, which Bleu McNeill opted to throw short to Calvin Green instead of launching long. When we are 2-1 down in the 90th minute and we have set up the box for a long throw, just chuck it in there!
Would love if we could get behind the team like this going forward. Said it before but if we could create something of a ‘shed end’ down the Birch Road end at Hayden Road it would do the world of good for the atmosphere. It’s a shame as Hayden Road used to have plenty of metal cover in the past.
