Glad the FA saw common sense and didn’t allow them use the name ‘Rushden Town’ as Rushden Spartans originally wanted to. Yeah, I know, the FA common sense has never been in the same sentence (until now!!).

They were attempting to piggy back on to the Rushden Town name, as I said in a previous post, to me that showed a complete lack of respect to our club.

As someone pointed out elsewhere, technically Rushden FC was Rushden Town's original name too.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rushden_Town_F.C.

"The club was founded in 1889 as Rushden F.C. and joined the Midland League in 1894."

What was so wrong with the name Rushden Spartans anyway? Lots of clubs up and down the country with unusual names, Anstey Nomads is one example. I’d have more respect for them if they’d kept the Spartans name.

They had no right to use Rushden Town, but what they use thereafter is unimportant. Good luck to them.
