Re: Coalville withdraw
Massive shock and so late. I wonder if anyone will be further reprieved or FA will stick with 21 teams. Just goes to show how you cannot rely on one person to indefinitely finance a club.

When you read the statement it appears that one particular councillor has helped to precipitate this

Worrying times for the supporters, I hope they find a way to keep the club going.
The chairman said he'd run it sustainably yet put in £140k in directors loans over the years.
Will it reprieve Hitchin?

Almost definitely given their connections to the league I’m hopeful that in my lifetime non league football clubs will realise running a sustainable business is actually possible and a good idea but I’m not over optimisticThree of Diamonds wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 5:36 pm Worrying times for the supporters, I hope they find a way to keep the club going.

I may be a bit dense here but when they say withdraw from the league.
Does this mean the team folds and no longer exists as a football club?

In the Statement , it says the Youth and Womens teams will still carry on, its the First team that is being disbanded.LincolnshireDiamond wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 10:20 pm I may be a bit dense here but when they say withdraw from the league.

Seems strange to me that it is allowed to happen, that someone can just go screw this and disband the team and exit the league without even trying to find someone to take over.

What happens when you let idiots buy a football club thinking it's sustainable.LincolnshireDiamond wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 8:45 am Seems strange to me that it is allowed to happen, that someone can just go screw this and disband the team and exit the league without even trying to find someone to take over.
