i will pay his bus fare if that helps, had a cracking game at daventry, pre season,,,,,,since then he hardly wins any headers, even the players have lost faith with him,,,,defence looked solid ,midfield is a mess ,hicksy the exception, WE NEED A STRIKER ASAP!!!,,,ditch the modern tech shit and get back to basics(sell it on market place and put the money towards a player   ) we need a win under our belt pretty soon or these lads will start panicking, and lose confidence :hmmm: :hmmm:

Let's get rid of Andy Burgess and bring Graham Drury in, he will put a bit of fire and fight into the players

Seriously though I don't think many fans expect us to win the league and I don't think many are expectational of a play off spot, anyone talking about playing at the level below after less than 10 or even 15 games is mad but after less than 5 games is just crazy.

A new squad needs to gel, to learn the football brains of each other both with and without the ball... can they do that as well in extreme heat as they would in cooler conditions? probably not, some of this hot weather has been horrible just to sit outside in, let alone to actually be running around in it.

Let's not write them off just yet, let's give them time to train and play in normal conditions and see how they do.
  • Play it out from the back.
  • 1 up front.
  • Man gets one good result via a new manager bounce and thinks he's Pep Guardiola.

Seems to have the attitude of - well im a cobblers player, so I'll go back to them no matter what and was probably forced into a move here. We've had players like that on loan before that don't really try. Like a few have already mentioned, a striker is a must. Don't matter how good the rest of your team is, you need somebody to put the ball in the back of the net

Right back needs sorting, Furlong still on the wrong side, right winger that faces his fullback too often and I think the team set up puts too many players in defensive formation. Lots of self induced pain from seemingly frustrated players giving far too many fouls away.
Maybe we need to seriously consider if we can survive at this level and try to regroup? This would be a good team in the level below I'm sure.

Do away with your negative posts. Giving up already ? You can say that about all bottom sides that they would do much better in the league below lol what’s your point?
Ah, my young apprentice, you see me well :joy:
Obviously I meant to say the left winger is too often not looking forward but on his heels. I spoke to another chap (his dad?), in the first half and he completely agreed. Miguel needs to be told not to always come short, but to make a run and trust his fullback to get the ball to him.
My point is very subtle and I wanted to say if relegation did happen this season, then the green shoots of recovery are already in place. I don't consider that negative, maybe alternative 🤔
I'm a deep thinker y'know :good:
That or I'm a mad old fecker

I just don’t know where to start, I thought we did ok first half and it was two fairly evenly matched teams. I felt after the penalty our heads dropped and we were never going to get back into it.
I think we have got a really talented group and I’m gutted we’ve got nothing out of the last two games.
I feel we are in a similar situation to last season before Ravi and Ty joined, I feel Conor Tee can be our Ravi, but we need to find our Ty from somehwere.

Much like the Needham game on the opening day though, it was a lacklustre, huff and puff second half performance with no realistic prospect of getting back in to the game once we went behind. The biggest problem tonight was our centre forward's race was run early on in the second half but there was nothing on the bench to change it. We really must address this urgently as I have reservations about what I've seen so far in that department but taking capability out of the equation, it's simply not realistic to have an 18 year old on his own at the top end or the pitch at this or any level.

Completely get that it's very much a work in progress but to pick up 1 point in 3 games against what looks like mediocre opposition isn't going to inspire confidence. Dare I say it, Peaks would have been crucified for this.
Absolutely agree if this was Andy Peaks team he would be getting vilified on here. I hear people saying we need to give him time. It's a young squad. BUT Since Burgess took over ,I believe, he has had 27 games including pre season & has won just 5 plus the pens v Cogenhoe! We have 7 points from our last 9 league games which is relegation form im afraid. We haven't won a competitive match (in 90 mins) since April. Yet if you dare to criticise you get shot down. I really really hope he sorts it out & proves me wrong . BUT Facts don't lie I'm afraid.

Concerned about what am reading on here especially the criticism of the players especially a young lad learning his trade in jack Conner, the lad is learning the game & as in all young players will make mistakes but will learn & be better for it.also reading we need to sort rb out so does that mean replace paddy who is one of the most consistent players we’ve had in last seasons.furlong should apologise!what for having a poor game even the best players in world have poor games.Yes the form hasn’t been great since April but we have a young squad & in management terms a young inexperienced management team who probably read this forum & hammering them isn’t going help them, they need the support of us fans especially early season & if we haven’t improved & got the results by say November that’s when we should maybe be asking questions of the board & what the future holds.

I'm now told he is ill. He needs to get well soon. My first viewing of all the new players. I liked Empoconshif, thought Fossen was ordinary, probably we hyped him up too much. Tee very good. Connor and Ngwa not sure how they can be on books of a league club. Of the old boys Hicks was good. Hughes and Furlong OK. Akubine poor. And of course Snedker was Snedker. For next game I would replace Casey who clearly is playing to go somewhere else and commits far too many fouls, Akubine, Connor, if Cooper fit and Ngwa.

Up until the last 20 minutes or so (which got a bit frustrating) that was an entertaining game, we've got a decent squad just need a bit of time I think. No need to panic yet, lets keep backing the boys.
