I’m genuinely in shock, didn’t see that coming. But as others have said, not surprising.

Re: [ Club Statement ] Andy Peaks
Thing is in most worried about now is who joins him? We've built up a good young side, even if we're light on numbers, so should 2 or 3 follow then we'll hardly have a bench to fill! Who are the contracted players snedker? Warburton? Dolman? I would imagine peaks will want at least 2 of the current squad, but in not going to name names. So with this in mind I think we need an appointment quickly. If we were only a couple of games from the end of the season then I wouldn't be so hasty, but lying in the play off places and a cup final to come then we need to find a solid replacement soon

If it is to do with money, what are the club expected to do? Spend money we don’t have? As for the running of the club, Ralph was reluctant to take the job at the beginning, but felt obligated to do so at that first meeting.

Spot on Dave, I despair sometimes - we have a club to support because of the people who step up and do these roles, I can’t wait to see all the nominations rolling in at the next AGM!davealbon wrote: Tue Feb 15, 2022 11:07 pmWhat exactly should the board have done? Given him money we don't have? They've introduced a brilliant initiative in the lottery, which has been used to bring in some quality players who've contributed massively to our playoff push. If you think they're doing that bad a job then I'm sure you'll be putting yourself forward for the next election to show them how it should be done?SimonHillington9 wrote: Tue Feb 15, 2022 10:33 pm Couldnt believ it when I herd it. Can respect the manager 4 wot he’s done for the club, but not the man. Peak$y used to criticise players leaving for money, can only assume he’s left 4 the same reason. Team disrupted during a playoff push, and wot if players leave to join him. Board need to shape up or get out. We ave been outfought and outthought by Tamworth and other teams in the market. Losing your manager to a team battling relegation tell us all we need to know! Peak$y I didnt always enjoy the football, I disliked the late substitutions, but I loved the memories.
Peaksy has moved on, some players may too - that’s football. A new manager will bring different ideas and new players! The timing isn’t great, but he’s obviously had a good offer and Tamworth’s need is for now! 6 points off 10th and 3 off the relegation zone - a good time for them to bring in someone.
It is the end of an era though and I thank Peaksy for all that he has done and wish him well - 8 years with some highs and lows! Its a challenge he’s taken on, but one I’m sure he’s relishing. Hopefully he’ll be welcomed back on the 19th March and we can show him the respect he deserves.
Onto the next chapter! Supporting Diamonds is never boring eh?

We are back to that old word Reality, seems some of our fans still haven't grasped it.
Andy Peaks knows he has taken this club as far as it can go and unless he wants groundhog day season after season saving us and flirting with playoffs.
The man has ambition and it seems Tamworth are going to fund him to save them this season and then next give him his biggest Budget yet as a Manager to go for promotion and maybe further promotions.
Also do not believe the people talking about the board shakeups, i did not know we had queues of people just lining up to fill the positions, every election cycle i do not see a new name for chairman or for most other positions, unless the new names co-opted are being groomed for the future i do not know but those sniping from the sidelines i look forward to seeing your names at the next election and your manifesto for the future of our club.
No doubt some players will follow and it is no surprise that Ty Deacon is being approached but i doubt we had any funds left to offer the boy a contract

Re: [ Club Statement ] Andy Peaks
From afar, seems like AP has been very patient across 8 years, including many times when a few thought he should be moved on. He's battled back from low points and stabilised the club at Step 3. Can't ask for much more. I wish him all the best at Tamworth and I hope he smashes it!
Maybe the summer will be the time for a collective think about the medium-term aims re: the First Team, attendances etc. I agree with everyone who said we can't spend money we don't have and I'm sure the Board would never gamble like that.

R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

Re: [ Club Statement ] Andy Peaks
I would hope the players look at our situation and the possibility of a play off place, and choose to stay until the end of this season. Impress your new Manager and showcase yourselves.
I would also hope that fans do give the team support until we re-stabilise.
Step forward to the club's aid if you think that you can do it better, that includes you Brownie. Your lad's old enough to get by without you, and you obviously have skills AFCRD can use, and people respect you around this club. We don't have to all agree, but we do need each other.
Hope to see you all at the far post on Saturday.

Re: [ Club Statement ] Andy Peaks
I said after the defeat against Barwell on the 16th October, when many on this forum were suggesting he leave, that Andy would know the time when to leave and now it seems he has decided to do so but entirely on his own terms. I wish him well and thank him for all his efforts at our Club since 2012.
I know he will be up for the challenge and high expectations from all those connected with Tamworth but am unsure how this will play out if he does not get their team quickly winning games and moving away from the drop zone.
Only time will tell.

He's retired from the game currently, but did understudy on the bench with Peaksy and team for a bit :-) Has managed at a few levels and been assistant to a few managers. Knows the Hayden Road setup well. The Eddie Howe of the lower leagues.
