Apart from our pride being dented this and results elsewhere mean we are in exactly the same situation as we were this morning. Fourth or fifth is still our target and very much attainable

I thought Rushall were a decent team but nothing exceptional. String, organised and had some decent players, most definitely have an advantage playing regular on the 4G. Would I be bothered if we go there if we make the playoffs, not really but it would be tough. We probably gave them a bit too much respect in the first half and had just a few half chances. Once we went behind we had a good spell for about 10 minutes but this was not helped by a poor referee. Both goals were from mistakes/being unfortunate. As previously mentioned no damage to our play off hopes and another tough away game out of the way. I think we will need to replace Ravi who will be a huge miss for the testing the season.

No complaints about the result at all, quite simply we were just beaten by a better team. For me I’d say they’re the best side we’ve played in the league this season. They pretty much dominated from start to finish. It was thanks to one of the best goalkeepers at this level that we went in at half-time on equal terms, as he produced three top class saves.
For the opening goal it was yet another great save by Dean Snedker to tip the ball onto the bar, but unfortunately Patrick Casey just couldn’t get out the way of the rebound in time. Their second goal however was a piece of absolute quality. A wonderful curling shot floated into the top corner to give Snedker no chance. Sometimes you’ve just got to hold your hands up. Throughout the match we had the occasional attack on their goal, but barring the odd moment in truth we struggled to test their keeper out.
You can see why Rushall haven’t lost a league game since November 9th. They played fantastic passing football, hunted in packs when they didn’t have the ball and posed a constant threat when attacking. Hugely impressive in every single department it must be said. If they carry on like this then they will take some stopping. One interesting side note is that we last drew a league game on 23rd October, so read into that what you will.
Being philosophical we knew this match would be difficult and so it proved to be. Nine points from this tough run of five games is still a good return. As long as this result doesn’t instigate a downturn in our form then we should be fine. Hopefully we’ll have a better outcome next time we play on a 3G pitch at Barwell on Saturday.
