Even though it's not the draw we would have wanted, in surprised about some of the negativity on here that we're already beaten in some people's eyes. We beat them on Saturday and even though it may have been a narrow victory, we can do it again at their place. The win on Saturday would have lifted the players after Banbury no doubt. Even if we can get a draw and bring them back to Hayden road for a midweek match would be welcomed!

Very disappointing draw. Not just the fact that it’s a very difficult tie but it’s always nice to draw someone from a different league or level. New places to go and hopefully an easier route to at least the later stages of qualifying. Drawing someone from the same league especially after just playing them is very boring, especially being such a tough game that getting through is very difficult.

Totally agree, Saturday has been described as, smash & grab, daylight robbery, a mugging and a few other things, even Shanks made a p take comment about the game plan working perfectly. But if it was possible Saturday then why not again on the 4th??TheIncognitoKid wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 9:07 am Even though it's not the draw we would have wanted, in surprised about some of the negativity on here that we're already beaten in some people's eyes. You sometimes win games you don’t deserve to and certainly get beat on occasions when you shouldn’t but good and bad luck is not reserved for once a season.
See you in the next round at Banbury

To be fair it's not a draw Coalville would have wanted either ;) Though being at home certainly helps them and you'd have to call them favourites. Wouldn't mind a replay either

Get your point and you are of course right that it's not reserved for once a season, but so rarely do we produce the goods in a match we're expected to lose. Obviously it happened at the weekend but I reckon you'd need to go back to November 2019 for the last one, when we beat Stourbridge at Hayden Road. Clearly, many, many cancelled games since!Brownie wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 9:39 amTotally agree, Saturday has been described as, smash & grab, daylight robbery, a mugging and a few other things, even Shanks made a p take comment about the game plan working perfectly. Come on BR stick with it, your one of the last remaining shining lights when all around are loosing faith and hope. And if it doesn’t happen at least you follow a Club where the Board are not so daft as to include Cup revenue and prize money into the budget so it won’t be detrimental on the rest of the season.BartonRaz wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 1:41 pmGet your point and you are of course right that it's not reserved for once a season, but so rarely do we produce the goods in a match we're expected to lose.
