Social Media Misinformation

Post by Biggles »

Just read the official Southern League website regarding postponement of matches this week and was gobsmacked that
they were perpetuating the misinformation put out by Ilkeston Town that our game against Banbury United was called of
because we had several players with Covid 19.

I quote
+++
AFC Rushden & Diamonds already had their scheduled game at Banbury United this evening called off due to positive tests to Diamonds` players.
+++

Just shows you how easy it is to start a lie and it grows and becomes fact in the eyes of those running official websites of
the Authorities who run our League.

I think our club should contact the League and ask Mr Whitney who runs their official site to put out an apology and correct his story
otherwise it looks like we did manipulate the F.A Trophy game win over Ilkeston Town.

No mention of our game at all. So obviously has now been corrected

Yes, the league were informed of the incorrectness in the statement by Club Officials earlier.

Just leaves a slightly one-sided statement at https://southern-football-league.co.uk/ ... n-Withdraw - which includes a link to our site..so that's ok then...hmm.
