There does not seem to be any decent matches locally, so its going to be watching England U-17's win their World Cup. Not much chance of the seniors doing it again in my lifetime!

Either Cambridge City v Alvechurch or may be tempted by St Neots v Corby.

And very enjoyable it was too. We can but hope that some of them get the chance to play for their clubs and maybe graduate to the full England team. But I wouldn't bet on it!sussexdiamond wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2017 4:47 pm There does not seem to be any decent matches locally, so its going to be watching England U-17's win their World Cup. Until the Premiership, the EFL and the FA all realise that a successful England team is in everyones interest and stop acting as completely separate entities then we have little hope of ever repeating 1966.

A dreadful game of football which the home side won 1-0. I think it was the only shot on target. Jordan Hempenstall got the winner, he played against us for Lincoln United last season.
Grantham play in a large Athletics stadium which doesn't do much for the atmosphere. I sat at the top of a 2-tier seated stand and it was a bit of a novelty to watch a non-league game from such an elevated level.
I spotted a few more Diamonds fans in attendance also!

Totally agree. It was was one of the most enjoyable and entertaining matches that I’ve watched for a very long time. Never let it be said that this country does not possess young talent and skill or have the coaches with the necessary qualifications to develop it at the age group 17-20 level. At times our lads made Spain look out of their depth in speed of thought, skill and tactical awareness. Paul Simpson, our Under 20 coach, pointed out that our major problem is that EPL has only a third of English born players regularly playing in the top tier. Until this changes then few of these outstanding youngsters will get their opportunity to play in our National Senior team.sussexdiamond wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2017 5:53 pm And very enjoyable it was too.
