Our Rivals this sseason
The NLP has Diamonds and Moneyfields as the top two bets for promotion. Does anyone have any thoughts on who our main rivals will be?
Re: Our Rivals this sseason
Bedford and Kempston may well be pushing for a play off spot, Hartley Wintney came up with a big budget which may well have got bigger, both Cambridge City and Hayes & Yeading would not have been happy about going down and will expect to be pushing to go straight back up, Beaconsfield will I would suspect be right up there with the money to back up the ambition.

To me it/main challenges has to be Cambridge City, Hayes & Yeading, also think Egham will be up near top (as they always are) and think AFC Kempston Rovers will do well.sussexdiamond wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2017 4:10 pm The NLP has Diamonds and Moneyfields as the top two bets for promotion. I just hope we can get off to a good start this year, something we've failed to do in the previous two campaigns. I think they'll be 7/8 teams who see this season, without the likes of Royston and Farnborough coupled with extra promotion places as a huge opportunity to ensure step 3 football.

Looking at the league, no one particularly sticks out. Possibly Bedford Town although they may consider us rivals more than we consider them to be rivals?
Will depend on how the season pans out, if we're challenging with two or three other clubs, then they may be considered "rivals".

Our big plus is our twelth man ie the crowd so lets get behind the lads and make a lot of noise, worth at least half a dozen points extra over the season. THat could be the difference at the end of the season

I 100% agree with that, the twelfth man is the crowd, let's make it count/the difference, to ensure step 3 football, wondering who will be 2nd highest crowd, think that will be between Cambridge City and Bedford Town.STAGMAN wrote: Thu Aug 10, 2017 3:45 pm Our big plus is our twelth man ie the crowd so lets get behind the lads and make a lot of noise, worth at least half a dozen points extra over the season. Re: Our Rivals this sseason
There was also some good news for Hayes & Yeading today who are able to start the season in their new ground, which will undoubtedly be one of the best we visit this season.
They started the season there last year with restricted access to parts of the ground, before being made to leave after 3 games due to a safety certificate issue.
I think Hartley Wintney have gone under the radar a bit and I'll certainly be keeping an eye on them. They absolutely destroyed all in front of them gaining a massive points total last season at Step 5.
