The PA system is not in yet at Hayden Road. We had a temporary pair of speakers in the main stand for the announcements for pre-season games. This is/was provided by DJ MarkyP - aka the groundsman.

We' should have the PA AMP in this weekend hopefully, and then be adding more speakers around the ground over the coming weeks as we do the wiring for both that and electrics to various parts of the ground for power to Dale's Bar, Toilet blocks etc,, so that the sound will be more local to each area for audio clarity.

I could hear the tannoy clearly from my house, 1km away!

Not much else to say about the game that hasn't been said already, except that I can't believe no one has singled out Ben Farrell yet; I though he was magnificent last night, completely bossed the midfield, and his goal was superbly taken.
Although he did have a good game, the reason nobody has commented is probabky because so many other players had a good game. His fitness levels are immense for evostick div1 standard and should be a key asset for the new season. It's possibly the best preseason performance I can remember us ever having, although not to get to carried away or else we'll all think we'll win the league at a canter!

I'd consider Paul Malone. Only played for Corby the other evening to get his fitness back and isn't committed to them.
Paul Malone is a donkey! He was rubbish in the Hillier Cup game last season. Obviously he has played at a higher level with Corby, but having been to a fair few games at Corby (due to us having no adult side/postponements etc) they were always entertaining as Corby relied on having to score more than 2 goals each game as they couldn't defend to save their lives! Malone was at the heart of that extremely leaky defense!
