New Signing?
Darryl Smith has announced on Twitter that he's signed for us. Looks like he played for both Newport Pagnell (Step 5) and Old Bradwell United (Step 7) last season.
I don't know anything about him other than he scored 11 in 40 for NPT and 9 in 7 for Old Bradwell, so i'm assuming he's an attacking player.
Anybody on here seen him play?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Re: New Signing?
Confirmed here along with a few others: https://t.co/65sHFaF94A
Not too disappointed about any of the players leaving; Bowen was only on loan and was never going to become a permanent signing; we already knew Quigs had moved on, which was no surprise (and it wouldn't be a surprise if he was back again in a few months); Richards was the sort of player we were crying out for for most of last season, but only turned it on in a small handful of games and was a passenger the rest of the time; and although you always got a good shift from Kyal, I never rated him as a right back or a central midfielder due to his distribution.
Can't say I know anything about any of the new signings (even Luke Fairlamb who was here briefly a year or two ago - I can't even remember if I ever saw him play!), but Chris Dillon does sound promising.

Re: New Signing?
Confirmed by Peaks today, in addition to Chris Dillon, Luke Fairlamb and Charlie Coulson.
I've played with Luke and Charlie - Luke is a left winger with a decent left foot who was with R&D as a young player. Charlie is a couple of years younger, and was also with R&D before moving onto Peterborough as a kid. He was very highly rated by my school, and I remember a lot of hype when he made his Posh debut, so not sure why it's not happened for him; my guess would be that he has proven to be too small to play in Midfield at a higher level. Exciting signings.

Dillon looks promising - scored a shed load in Step 3 for Arlesey and others. He is 33 however...

Re: New Signing?
Do we know the situation regarding Jack Ashton's long term injury?
We have missed him badly, and if he is not able to return, we need someone similar (i.e. with a bit of pace) at the back to replace him.
Having different centre back pairings virtually every game is not a good foundation for the team, which makes Liam Dolman's outstanding season all the more creditable.

Re: New Signing?
As it says all have re-signed I assume Jack has signed. The only question is his fitness now.
Re: New Signing?
Given it's not July yet I doubt any have re-signed, all have committed were Andy's words, minor detail but this is non league football and I'm sure once pre season starts the may be some changes.sussexdiamond wrote: Tue Jun 27, 2017 9:24 pm As it says all have re-signed I assume Jack has signed. I saw Daryl Smith a couple of times last season for Pagnell and he's a decent player, Chris Dillon has been there, done it and got the T shirt, knows where the back of the net is and has proved it over the years for various Clubs in the region. Not sure what happened to Charlie Coulson, 2nd youngest 1st team player for the Posh behind Matthew Etherington at 16, released after 2 years then appears at Deeping, seen him there and for me he's a good signing.
If Jacko isn't going to be ready for the start of the season I hope we sign a CB partner for Bully. Given the recent confirmation of additional promotion places this season has to be a big push and Andy given what is needed to ensure we start 2018/19 at Step 3.

Re: New Signing?
I was actually a bit surprised that the player announcement was made because as you say it is not yet July 1st. Usually the club have a registration day at Overstone when the formalities are completed.Brownie wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2017 7:38 amGiven it's not July yet I doubt any have re-signed, all have committed were Andy's words, minor detail but this is non league football and I'm sure once pre season starts the may be some changes.sussexdiamond wrote: Tue Jun 27, 2017 9:24 pm As it says all have re-signed I assume Jack has signed. Re: New Signing?
4 excellent signings.
Daryl Smith, Luke Fairlamb, Charlie Coulson, and Chris Dillon.
Chris Dillon has scored loads of goals, hatful of goals at this level, excellent signing.

I agree it would be nice to here news on Jack Ashton, we missed him badly, hopefully he'll be back soon.rushdenman wrote: Tue Jun 27, 2017 1:58 pm Do we know the situation regarding Jack Ashton's long term injury?
