Heard for a fairly reliable source that Jake is leaving us and will sign for Kempston in the near future. (I know he's already on dual registration with Sileby Rangers)
When the person in question asked him why he was moving on he stated he had been hampered with injuries and went on to slag Peaksy off.
Thanks Jake, make sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out!
Peaksie said in an interview with the NT that he was due to start tonight.
A solitary goal in 19 appearances (10 starts) tells you he's far from his best. I missed his goal at Histon in that rout but when I've seen him play he's never looked like scoring. Absolutely no guile to his play just thumps the ball and hopes for the best.
A shame that it hasn't worked out. I was very pleased to have him back when we signed him but he's not really looked capable of scoring the goals we need despite prolific spells at Wellingborough, Stamford and Spalding after a successful spell with us previously.
In fairness that injury on the opening day of the season has clearly done him no favours at all.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Agreed, I was always 'cutting him some slack' when he started back playing despite criticism of him from fellow supporters around me. I understand that his injury was quite bad and, in hindsight, maybe he should not attempted to resume this season. Very difficult when he wants to play but in doing so he's done himself no favours.

Another typically uninformed post. He's already had success at this level with Spalding, and even the level above with Stamford. For whatever reason it's just not worked out for him here.
