As it is likely we wont play Witton on the 10th we face another run of 3 tough successive away games. This is the one most likely to yield 3 points. We will really need be at our best leading up to Xmas.
There looked every prospect of another 3-3 game early on. There then looked a danger of a repeat of the Market Drayton game, but this time the management took action when it looked inevitable we'd concede an equaliser early in the second half, and the early introduction of Ben Farrell helped steady things.
A thoroughly entertaining game helped by a passionate opposition crowd which makes a nice change. I thought Fazel had a good game and took his goal excellently - we've been lacking that sort of composure in front of goal for quite some time now. Sam Brown did a great job of keeping Pearson Mwanyongo quiet too when required and Nabil was as good as ever.
I know I said this after the first game against Gresley but what a shame we didn't pick up one or two of those ex-Thurnby attacking players. Mwanyongo especially. Having someone like that in our side would turn games like Market Drayton and Basford into victories. Alas, he didn't play for Cogenhoe or K*ttering so was never likely to be on our radar.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
Disappointed not to get a point, think Browne was excellent on our left wing especially & Young Dexter in the middle of the park. Again nice to see an away crowd, only Rugby & Leek brought more than 20 this year so far. Adds to the atmosphere and that drives the lads on in my opinion. You're a decent side although for me Lincoln & Shaw Lane are by far the best I've seen this season.
