Re: [ Sat 15th Dec ] NO GAMES for AFCR&D or R&HUFC @ HAYDEN ROAD

I’ve had worse days sitting at home watching the scores come in. Indeed - dodging the awful weather too. I was amazed to discover the Poppies had signed striker Adam Cunnington after he left big spending Conference South Billericay Town - he won't have come cheap. Judging by today's result they mig...

A pretty even game so a fair result in the end. They probably had the best of the first half, but we looked more dangerous in the second period, and had a couple of penalty shouts. Ben Heath was very impressive, with many good saves, and was easily my MoM.

An impressive turnout of players who aren't available today - Dolman, Ashton, Westbrook, Diamond, Bowen - perhaps it has something to do with it being the players Christmas Party this evening.

Re: [ Sat 1st Dec ] v Leiston FC, KO 3pm ESCP AWAY

It was probably even a better performance than the trip to Needham Market. When we conceded the goal late in the first half it was reasonable to expect we'd be under real pressure in the second. playing with the wind and rain in our faces. What happened was the complete opposite, as we completely do...

Leiston have just signed Ashley Nicholls who some Diamonds fans will remember. I think today’s line up highlights how much we needed the new signings. According to Twitter Patrick Casey is away at an England Schoolboys trial, otherwise he might have had a league start.

Pretty damp in Suffolk.

We mustn't forget this was a match arranged at very short notice - and wasn't on the agenda when we played our previous home game. Many fans would already have had previous commitments - I was one of them.

Re: [ Tue 27th Nov ] v Halesowen Town, KO 7:45pm ESCP HOME

It's good to see one of our Academy players appearing in a League game at Step 3. I think that means Patrick Casey is our first player in a league game that was born this millennium. (There have been a couple of others in Cup games). It's especially notable with him being a central defender, with mo...

Re: [ Sat 24th Nov ] v Lowestoft Town, KO 3pm ESCP AWAY

At least we looked like a team from the same level in the first half - unlike Tuesday. Our squad is really thin now. I saw the lack of strike threat more as an issue with formation and tactics - we didn't really create many half-chances.
