Re: What do we need to reach play offs?

I agree we probably need to win 6 of the last 7. Judging by the fact we haven't been able to string a run of wins together this season in its entirety, and given who we've got to face in those remaining games, I think this is highly unlikely. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't. I won...

Re: [ Mon 11th Mar ] v Rushall Olympic FC, KO 7:45pm ESCP AWAY

Easy to be downbeat after another defeat, but this wasn’t a bad performance and 2-0 flatters Rushall who were no better than us, if not slightly worse on the balance of play. A couple of lapses of concentration defensively cost us, the second goal in particular was a really well taken lob over Ben H...

Re: [ Sat 9th Mar ] v Stratford Town, KO 3pm ESCP AWAY

We have a season-ticket holder in our ranks from Stratford-upon-Avon who will no doubt enjoy the possibility of walking to a Diamonds game for the first time ever. Not sure whether he will actually walk though! As a result of having family there I know a little bit about Stratford. Probably the nice...

Re: [ Sat 2nd Mar ] v Alvechurch FC, KO 3pm ESCP HOME

That's the third time in recent home games (Banbury, Leiston, Alvechurch), where we've managed to get ourselves a goal in front, probably against the run of play on each occasion, and then been pegged back. For me we're too slow to react to what's going on on the pitch and today in particular it was...

Seems Albie Hopkins has confirmed on Twitter that he's left the club and gone back to Oxford. Disappointing news but to be expected.
Signs for Oxford City on loan in Conference South.

Thanks Dazzler. Nice to be able to see what's going on. Thanks also to the volunteers doing their bit to ensure we remain at this level of football. :clapping:

Re: Former Players

Joel Gyasi featured in Cambridge City's 3-0 defeat to Aylesbury FC yesterday. A club with nothing to play for as they already know they will be demoted at the end of the season for failing ground grading.

A penny for his thoughts.

Re: [ Sat 23rd Feb ] v Halesowen Town, KO 3pm ESCP AWAY

This corresponding weekend hasn’t been too good to us in recent years. 2018 - Egham 2-1 Diamonds. The end of our long unbeaten run. 2017 - Basford 3-0 Diamonds. Probably still the worst performance under Andy Peaks and IIRC this forum was not a happy place after that game. 2016 - Diamonds 0-1 King’s...

Re: [ Sat 16th Feb ] v Leiston FC, KO 3pm ESCP HOME

Quite why we signed Ben Acquaye is a mystery unless he's an expert in warming benches. Agreed it is hard to be critical but you've got to laugh at this situation. Over the past few years I can think of plenty of occasions where we've been desperate for wide players. Now we seem to be stockpiling th...
