[ Project Vista ] Improve Touchline visibility at top end of ground

This project has been planned for some time (well since the DeBanke was being put in, and I noticed that the touchline was not quite visible).

Now that all the advertising boards are mostly up for renewal or redesign, we're taking the opportunity to do some work at the top end to improve the visibility there - as the issue was even more pronounced with the lower seating in the new stand, as we can lower the fence and replace the boards/vinyls wth slightly narrower ones (80% height of previous ones).

a pleasing view. "sweeping lawns and landscaped vistas, one can see the touchline too."
--

This work is currently partially complete, done by a few of our weekday volunteers. The fence is lowered in front of both stands at the top end all the way across in line with the hashed/no standing area - which makes it fully compliant with all Ground Grading for both this level and the level above.

In the words of Johnny Nash (1972) - "I can see clearly now the rail has gone" (or something like that) - Other artists are available.

See Pictures below for partial work completion.

The original top rail will go back on top of the cut area, to form a drip lip over the front ply facing. We'll then re-paint, and seal before the new boards are added ahead of the pre-season matches - plus whatever new League Sponsor boards need to go up too (EvoStik boards have been removed from all locations in ground pending new sponsor announcement by the league and new boards).

Fantastic news. Well done to those involved in sorting it.

This was killing the match day experience for some, including kids, and forced others out of the De Banke who had previously stood in it at the Dog & Duck. Relieved it’s finally in the process of getting sorted.

Well done to all those involved. Loved the Johnny Nash video - look forward to hearing it again pre-match :joy:

Work progressing - and should be fully completed by Friday. Last 1/3 of the cap to do, and some repainting/sealing (to protect wood).
The Boards/Vinyls - mostly new boards in that area, though many of the same sponsors. These will go up ahead of the first game.
