Alfreton Town V AFC Rushden & Diamonds
They are 12th in Conference North. 9 of the 10 points they have picked up so far have come at home.

I guess it's marginally better than being drawn again against Hendon away. The fifth time in a row that we've been drawn away in the FA Cup. Let's hope we can get at least a draw at Alfreton and get them back at Hayden Road.

Honking draw!! They don't even pull in big crowds - will be 600 maybe.
We're good underdogs though - if we can sort out defensive problems from Saturday we'll give them a right good go!! We've got plenty of people to scare them - Nabs, Claudiu, Gyasi, Smith, Fairlamb etc etc.

Ouch, usually hope for a couple of more rounds in before we face the bigger boys..
Wonder if this is likely to be segregated? Looking at pics of the ground it looks very open and a lot of open terraces.. but there is probably a few people on here more in the know..
Let's hope for a half decent away following, perhaps the size of the match and obviously being the underdogs might force a few more to attend. Got a feeling this is going to be a very tough task, but with past seasons results, and how this season is shaping there should be some confidence!!!

We've got absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain!! Not the most lucrative in terms of potential crowds and income - but a good test of us against a Step 2 side.
No-one will expect us to win, but we know on our day we've got a surprise in the locker.
I would have preferred a home draw, I'm working in the morning and it'll be tough to get there in time for KO but I'm hopeful I'll make it.
I'm sure Alfreton will look at this and rub their hands together and think "3rd QR easy peasy" - but if we have a go at them who knows, the magic of the cup and all that. Head says defeat - heart says let's give it a go!
Let's just not roll over and die and go out with a whimper, that's all I ask !!

Whaaaat? We've a great opportunity to go there and give them a fright. This is probably the best team I've seen us have since we re-formed, and if we just work hard and continue to attack the way we do, we should be afraid of no one.
It's the FA Cup, let's go there in force, get behind our club and who knows what will happen?
