Anyone need a lift tonight, I'm leaving Oakley (North Beds) about 6.00 and can go to Brackley via A422, A421, A428 or even A6.
Not got time to get to Bridlington though before anyone mentions it.

Not sure if 3 of D is still away and in need of an update.
Decent game and a good work out, Brackley are a good side and having seen Northampton in the last week a fair few Brackley players could be playing for them, guess if you are getting the sort of money it's claimed is paid and your only part time if they have a day job as well why bother going full time pro.
No real stand out performances for me but lots of good ones, a couple look to be struggling as much with fitness as anything else. Have to disagree with Discodunk from the St Ives thread, I do get Dillon, and as a target man/hold up striker is the best since Dunks IMO, I don't think he is anywhere near his best yet but for me is a good signing.
Fairlamb had another good game, we may have had wide players in the past who edged him going forward but his work ethic and defensive play is better than anything historically, may be a case of scoring 4 less, but helping prevent 6 at the other end which would do me, that said wasn't a lot wrong with the strike for his goal.
Ben F had a decent game standing in at right back, and maybe given our CB shortages could be an option for a back 3 BF..LD..SB
Last work to Peaksy for bringing Harry Henbury on, not sure if it was an inspired substitution or he just got lucky but I know which he will claim.

Harry Henbury is a cracking player. He played at S&L last year and was a shining light nin a struggling team.

He could well be the winger that is needed.

Thought we struggled in the first half particularly defensively, but let's face it, we're not going to face teams like that in the regular league season. Hoping that Westwood is still with us and has just been missing for the past couple of games.

Second half we competed far better and passed the ball around well which was pleasing. Henbury's goal was an excellent finish but he struggled on Saturday against St Ives so i'm not getting carried away just yet. Perhaps he'll get 90 minutes against Rushden & Higham or Winslow in the coming week. Fairlamb's performance was promising.

I too like Dillon and think he's an excellent addition to the squad. I do however think that for a partnership to work better Nabil needs to start playing on the shoulder of the last man a bit more, like he did against the Cobblers. Yesterday both were dropping in to midfield looking for the ball. Henbury's equaliser showed that a simple ball over the top can provide a much easier route to goal.

No need to panic, he was there on Saturday but unable to play, he had recently played a game of which is tougher, A- a hedge trimmer, B- fingers on left hand. 9 stitches and 3 badly cut fingers later he now knows the answer and it's possibly a game he won't be playing again. He was hoping to play last night from the conversation I had with him but guess it was a bit early, hopefully back within the next week.

I know it's only pre season but a few interesting results from last night, the Wobblers with about 10 taking part who were involved against us beat a much changed Derby team 1-0 Derby did though include Tom Huddlestone and a couple of other well known names. Barwell with much the same team we played turned K*ttering over 3-0, Bedford drew 2-2 with St Ives after being 2 up but went down to 10 Men, I've seen Bedford once this year and I wasn't over impressed but they look to be assembling a decent squad possibly a bit of money being thrown at it. Brad got on the score sheet in his first game for Rugby during the 0-5 defeat to Banbury. Only bad news this week is the list of Clubs in our Division who it's claimed, are going for it with budgets to match their ambitions.
