Slight possibility we could go third on saturday. if we win. Loughborough have lost their last 10 away games!!!
Basford v Witton is big one of the day. A draw would suit us the most. Basford unbeaten in their last 8 games
Bedworth v Leek again a draw or win for Bedworth
Carlton v Shaw Lane, .... cant see the wheels coming off Shaw Lane in that one
Newcastle v Sheffield.. probably a win for the faux geordies!
Spalding v Chasetown.... a win for Spalding but maybe Chasetown can soften them up a bit before we play on Tuesday in League Cup.

I wonder if new signing Callum Westwood will get the nod at right back this afternoon? Big mates with Robbie Parsons - presumably from their Northampton Town Youth days.

Overall an enjoyable home performance which the way things have gone this season we have to take. Biggest negative was the injury to the new right back, from what I saw it seemed we had finally found somebody decent to play there. If winters and Ashton are both out long term a centre half needs to be the priority as Harris is no where near the standard we need in there.

Well we go up to 4th.
Witton won 2-1
Bedworth beat Leek 2-1
Shaw Lane carry on winning 5-1 today at Carlton
Newcastle lose at home to Sheffield 0-1
Spalding shade it 2-1.
What a shame about Westwood. He was heading for MOTM.

First 30 mins thought we were outstanding, especially the movement off the ball, second goal was a great team goal. Callum Westwood looked really good and exciting going forward, hope his injury isn't serious. After that we was pretty comfortable and we never looked in danger against a poor side. atmosphere was flat with the game going through the motions and it was very cold!!
3 points at home and Tom Lorraine now on 48 goals!!

Strange that Pitchero block views from outside the UK until 17.15 GMT. I had thought that rule only applies to the UK.

Joe Curtis was my man of the match, two well taken goals and very good work rate in the middle of the park. We did a great job in the first half, but it got a little sloppy in the second but still looked dangerous going forward. Something to build on, I hope young Callum is ok.

I think the poor opposition may have had something to do with it but, unsurprisingly, we looked so much better with a bonafide right back playing, linking up well with the attack and creating chances for himself and others. Joe Merrill used to do the same thing very well. What a shame that his debut only lasted half an hour, I hope it's not too bad.
After Westwood went off we found it that bit tougher to generate chances, either that or the foot came off the gas but the job was done by that point. Thought Joe Curtis had his best game in a Diamonds shirt and took his two goals exceptionally well. An enjoyable afternoon all told, although I won't be totally convinced that the home hoodoo has been banished until we beat a half-decent side. Loughborough are comfortably the poorest side in this league IMO, I didn't recognise a single player from the previous meeting a couple of months ago.
