Martin Potton, Chairman of Wellingborough Town has been banned for 5 matches and fined £75 for making sexist remarks about Mary Harmer during their 7-0 loss to AFC Rushden and Diamonds. See BBC Sport website for full story.
Not sure how he will feel about attending a mandatory education lesson.
That's the same Mary that was unanimously agreed best referee we had last season.

If they wanted to punish him then shouldn't they be making him attend Wellingborough matches, rather than banning him?

She has been possibly the best ref we've had so far though! Very odd.

She was just on 5live, I switched on and wondered who she was and then they said Wellingborough to my amazement! It's also one of the top stories on BBC football today, with Mal's photo as the thumbnail.
But yeah, even if the game went our way that day and I'm biased, I still remember her as one of the best refs we've had (though that's arguably not difficult at this level).

Considering that he was banned last October, Welly managed to keep that quiet. Just watched the interview with Mary Harmer and was very impressed. She seems to be a very sensible person and expressed her views on the subject very eloquently.
Good to see so much footage of our goals against Welly and Harborough.

Wasn't it Harrowby, not Harborough?

I suspect that this news story has been engineered by the BBC to break today to gain as much publicity for International Women's Day which is celebrated on the 8th March each year.
