That's good news and let's hope the match does go ahead, weather wise, after all their efforts :good:

It's the Daily Mail. I'm more surprised they haven't blamed immigrants for starting the fire. Approach all news stories written from a point of ignorance with caution.

For the Mail the line "Two genuine community clubs have pulled together following a fire at their clubhouse and staged a game watched by nearly 500 people just six days after the fire" isn't as interesting.

Sorry to bring this back to the top again, but don't particularly want to start a new topic..

Can anyone tell me what the latest is with the clubhouse? I have only been to one game since January due to family reasons so I'm just a bit behind on the current situation.

Is any work been started on it? Is the original building staying put or is it being rebuilt now or in time? I'm doing the weandal walk for the club so it might help me to complete my donation page :cheesy:

Cheers..

The club house remedial work including the refurbished toilets has been now completed and was opened for business a couple of weeks ago including the construction of new entrance steps required to enable ground grading approval.

I see that Northampton Spencer have suffered a similar attack. All the best to them in overcoming this outrage - I know they will feel as angry as Diamonds fans were a few months ago. Haven't these vandals anything better to do than such mindless destruction?

I think they are about to fold in any event as there are insufficient people prepared to come forward to run the club after long standing officials announced their intention to retire at the end of this season. Their recent home league match against Northampton Sileby was described as their 'final' first team match after nearly 80 years in a recent twitter post although they still have a home reserve fixture to fulfill. All very sad.
