Competition rules mean that players who have played in this competition will not be eligible for the NFA Junior Cups – the Diamonds U21 side will start in the NFA Lower Junior Cup this weekend.
Interesting dilemma for Peaksy then. The likes of Ackroyd and Harvey might benefit from playing against Step 6 sides in the Junior Cup if we could go on a run in that, but is the current U21 side capable of going on a run in that competition?

No, because they're not in it!
U21 sides are in the Lower Junior Cup where the opposition will be very modest. Reserve sides of step 5 and above clubs get to play in the Junior Cup.

Oh, OK. What was the Junior Cup competition we were in when we were at Step 6?

I am pleased to see that Peaksy wants to play a strong team tonight, although I would have used a couple of Under 21's.
The chance to play Ploppies in next round or final should not be passed up, whatever the competition.
Presumably that means starts for Liversedge, Scottie, Brad, Charlie, Courtney(if fit) and maybe Vitue. Does anyone know if ELJ is fit and what has happened to Steve Spriggs?
Other than those mentioned who else do we have!!!!

My guess...
.....................Finlay.......................
Butt.......Dolman.......Wilkinson.....Brown
Hall.......Harris...........Quigley......Hoban
.......Liversedge...........Joseph............
For Herbert not to have been involved at all on Saturday suggests to me he's injured. Gordon's been picking up knocks left right and centre so he'd probably benefit from a break. Hoban needs games for fitness (according to his interview after the Barwell game!) so I reckon he'll start, same for Hall I suspect having missed both Barwell ties.
God know's what's going on with ELJ & Spriggs.

I think those involved with running the club may have other ideas there, I may be wrong, but I can't imagine any game, Hillier Cup or otherwise between K*ttering and Diamonds could be played without segregation given the history of the fixture, perhaps the problems of the fixture are well in the past now, but even a Hillier Cup game could bring out opportunists wanting to cause trouble. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see us play them again and hope it's not too long before we do, it's just it clearly would be a logistical challenge hosting a game like that at either ground.

Anyone remember the last Hillier Cup game between the two teams, switched at short notice to the Rockinghorse because of the floodlight issues at Nene Park -
http://rdfc1992.com/2009/11/17/rushden- ... ttering-2/ I don't think there was any segregation that evening, but obviously the Hillier Cup was a pretty low profile competition in those days.
