UCL Footnote

The UCL have published the background documentation prior to their AGM on their website - http://full-time.thefa.com/DisplayNews. ... ue=1625657

It might interest some people.

Perhaps the most notable thing is that the league made a profit of just £1,309. The UCL KO Cup final receipts helped push the figure into the black as they made £5479 from this (as opposed to only £1193 the season before). That £5k is apparently only about £1K less than Chromasport pay to sponsor the league.

It also shows that the Diamonds U21 side should have more company next season (15 sides in the league including a Doughboys U21 side).

The league also blow their own trumpet about their firm stance on Ground Grading - and then at the end of the document they ask that Olney Town are allowed into the league without the appropriate Grading.

They also seem to have scrapped their recent new rule about the "respect" bibs in the dugouts.

Allowing clubs to have two teams in the U21 league is asking for ringers to be played

One other footnote is that Holbeach have been deducted 3 points from the final league table of last season, for fielding an ineligible player against Eynesbury Rovers on 29 November 2014 - thus dropping a couple of places. If things had turned out differently that could have made things interesting, especially given how long after the end of the season the error was revealed ...

It was a player that went to them with one game of a three game suspension hanging over him. According to Holbeach the FA system showed him as clear and the County FA didn't pick it up.

Even though the player should know and given that it is Holbeach it's a bit harsh punishing them when the system was at fault
