Thurnby have conceded 40 goals in just 17 games! Just need to keep their forwards quiet.

In their 9 home games they have scored 31 (avg 3.4 goals) and conceded 20 (avg 2.2 goals), in our 10 away games we have scored 24 (avg 2.4) and conceded just 10 ! They won't have played against many defences as tight as ours and they concede over 2 goals a game at home against lesser opposition than we will be!!

They showed they're a decent side when we beat them at home, so we need to be careful sure, but I still think we've got enough in the tank to do them!! I'm going for a 1-3 victory :)

Is there a coach on this weekend? If so, I'll definitely come and watch, so we're almost certain to lose!

I see they have the leagues top goalscorer Liam Canavan (16 goals) but his partner and club captain, Matthew Melbourne (10 goals) who scored twice against Huntingdon on Saturday, is suspended for this game.

Just a heads up for those expecting to have a pre-match half pint at the match, Thurnby do not have any licensed premises at their ground. Just a short walk away to the north is the Stirrup Cup in Thurncourt Drive. However, unfortunately, this establishment is a real ale 'desert' and the only beer available is John Smith/Carlsberg 'fizz'. :?

For lovers of proper beer if you're coming via the A6 then the Cow & Plough on Gartree Road (B582) in north east Oadby, just 1.5 miles from the ground, and one of the Steamin' Billy excellent pubs is your best bet.

From the A47 coming from Uppingham then the Rose & Crown at Houghton on the Hill (on the main road), again less than 2 miles from the ground, is CAMRA recommended and a discount given for their members and this is another good option for a decent pint and something to eat.

Get your Christmas jumpers at the ready and come join the DeBanke Army/p*ssheads on a jolly old outing in Leicester before the game. The beer train departs Wellingborough at 9am (ish) "CHOO CHOO!"
