Looks like we may not be seeing Ex players tomorrow, both Lance & Nat played when Cogenhoe lost to Sleaford last month, since then it has been a single appearance as a sub for each of them and neither were on the bench on Saturday, injured/suspended/left/dropped? anyone know. On past player, see 2 of them made a good comeback at Deeping Sat.

We've had an awful lot of rain in the last 24 hours and I wonder what the state of the pitch is in and whether there is any possibility the game might be in doubt?

It`s not raining here at the moment, but given the amount we have had in last 24 hours and having just driven the Bedford, MK, Northampton triangle and seen acres of standing water, I would think if we had more tomorrow the game could be either, in doubt or played in Speedo`s and flippers.

Although Compton Park is in an elevated position away from the River Nene I've noticed before that matches have succumbed after a period of heavy rainfall so would guess they have heavy soil which prevents easy drainage.

I am in the fortunate position to be in possession of a full geological breakdown of the soil and subsoil structure for Compton Park Trek, if you would like me to forward it to you as either a PM or an email.
Not sure that it`s extra heavy soil though as last time we moved any from that area a Tonne did in fact only weigh a Tonne, though I can understand you confusion with Sam Heavey playing for them.

Gardening term, Brownie.

'Clay and silt soils – ‘heavier soils’ – have small particles. This means water is less likely to drain away but the soil is more likely to become waterlogged. Heavier soils are fertile, but take longer to warm up in the spring and are harder to dig.' ;)
