Nine quid for this round of the FACup is disgraceful. It'll certainly put sone undecideds off.

Bedford's standard home entrance fee is £10 and ours is £6 as I'm sure we all know.
Sounds to me like they are cashing in on how many away fans they are likely to get knowing we take a lot.
Well you can count my son and I out for the return leg at that price !!

Stupid price for this stage of the competition i agreed, but knowing what their Chairman is like I fully expected them to charge the usual tenner to be honest!! They won't drop it, so just don't buy drinks or food while you're there - only H's burgers are worth eating anyway ;)
If we perform as we can we'll win, we were below par yesterday but got a get out of jail card, we now need to make it count for something. Brown and Gearing to start for me - then we'll win. Can't see Parky being fit and I'd have Matty on the right where I think he will do damage.
I predicte 2-1 yesterday, I'll go for an optimistic 1-3 Tuesday

I'm afraid that's the price at playing away to a higher ranked club, although I didn't hear many complaints about the high admission prices charged by Dover Athletic last season.
Don't forget also that it's a shared gate so we'll also be benefit from these increased prices.
What's the situation regarding car parking. I was advised by a Bedford fan that they have limited car parking which somebody attending our friendly was charged for parking.
The ground appears to be off a very busy A road. Are there any parking alternatives?

Incorrect!! Having been to Bedford 3 times this year. They charged a reduced entry when we played the pre season friendly, for league games they have been charging £9 which is expensive for step 4. Last season they charged £10 in step 3 then made a big issue of reducing prices this season, should have gone to £8 but only put down to £9. Is the deal for FA Cup not that both Clubs have to agree it??, either way at £9 it's what's they have been charging. As Piggy pointed out the C'man there is a grade One C k so be prepared for over priced food & drink, pressure selling of raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets & programmes. Answer 1 is no thanks, 2 is your not listening please do one. Please don't use £1 as a reason not to support the team as you may end up missing a good night. 3-0 win. I'll be there at 6.25 & will leave the disputed £2 at the turnstiles to allow you not to have to miss a good night out.

Regarding parking. They have a decent sized car park 80 cars min, + use car park of slaughter house next door, sorry couldn't spell abattoir. Both of which will cost you £1. The is a 100 yard lay-by by the turning into the ground which most early arrivals will use, including the grass verge between the lay-by and main road. This is free & ok to use.

Yes I was at the friendly earlier this year. Paid a £1 to park the car. Had I thought about it I had got there early enough to park in the lay-by near the burger van and walked in.
Regarding the price of £10, it's what I saw on the admission board at the turnstiles and thus feared the worse as to how much it was to get in. Thankfully it was only £6 to get in.
As for your £2 Brownie, you can keep it.

The layby can get quite busy in the evenings when the HGV's arrive for an overnight stay - its worth making sure you aren't blocking their route through to any vacant space.
(This is especially pertinent as I got blocked in watching Baldock Town in the FA Cup today - making me appreciate the work our Parking Stewards do even more (although perhaps the average visitor to the D&D has a few more brain cells than the average Harlow Town fan)).
I've also seen people parking on the overbridge where Meadow Lane goes over the A421 towards the sewage works. They have parking stewards to collect parking fees and to ensure the route to the abattoir isn't impeded..
Part of the plot is allocated as a "Gypsy and Traveller emergency stopping site" so space could also be limited if that is in current use.

With the high price and the questionable chairman, I wonder if we might see another case of a faulty calculator, a la Dover...
