Considering this has been put on facebook i'm guessing it can be discussed here.

For the record I hope the two unelected candidates are co-opted onto the board because they all deserve to be there.

Well done to all, not much in it overall.

Why can't we have a ten-person board? Who decided eight?

(And I'm not asking just because the two non-elected I consider friends of mine... after all, two others I consider friends ARE elected!)

Agreed, but i guess there has to be a limit. If 20 person put themself up for election then 8 wouldn't of seemed to bad because alot of people would of missed out. But as 10 person were up i does look alittle harsh.

Maybe the powers that be can shade some light on why 8?

Asked that on the members forum and got this response:

The one fan one vote concept has to be adhered to.
We need a board of 8 members for our constitution, others can be co-opted onto the board and working committee after the vote.

I agree they should be co-opted, all that put their names up have the club at heart. And for that reason alone the club needs them. Congratulations to everyone, the hard work starts now.

Agreed - although some might say the hard work began in July ;)

The 8 Board members model is as agreed in our Constitution and it gives us the flexibility to co-opt people on with particular skills and experience if/when they are needed, up to a maximum of 12 Board members - it should work well, I guess we'll see.
