I know this won't be of interest to everyone, but the Non-League Paper recently published a full list of all Non-League pre-season friendlies. Considering most of us will now have time on our hands and/or still want our fix of football, I have written a list of relatively local or remotely interesting friendlies over the coming month, plus a couple of others...

Sat July 9th – Burton Park Wanderers V Kings Lynn (A chance to see UCL Champions elect 2011/2012)
Sat July 9th – St Neots V MK Dons
Saturday July 16th – Brackley V Northampton (Maunsell Cup Final)
Tuesday July 19th – Stamford V Boston Utd
Tuesday July 19th – Woodford Utd V England Prison Officers
Wednesday July 20th – Northampton V Nottm Forest (Steve McLaren first game)
Wednesday July 20th – Brackley V Darlington
Thursday July 21st – Cogenhoe Utd V Histon
Saturday July 23rd – Bedford V Luton
Saturday July 23rd – Kings Cliffe V Rushden & Higham Utd
Monday July 25th – St Neots V Dag & Red
Monday July 25th – Corby V Notts County (First game in new stadium)
Tuesday July 26th – Newport Pagnell V Rushden & Higham Utd
Tuesday July 26th – Wellingborough Whitworths V Wellingborough Town (Should be a bit tasty!)
Saturday July 30th – Raunds V Wellingborough Town
Tuesday August 2nd – Luton V Parma (No, that’s not a spelling mistake)
Saturday August 6th – Rugby Town V Kidderminster

Corby have also arranged a game against Rangers but the date of this is yet to be confirmed.

I reckon this is a game of table football in the Rangers Supporters Club on Rockingham Road. :D

Chaps,

One idea that was spoken about (on a thread... somewhere) was doing an 'AFC Rushden and Diamonds On Tour' thing on saturdays this season where AFC R&D supporters go to watch a game, take an AFC flag and posisbly some leaflets (or if the host club are feeling generous collection buckets) and spread the word/generally make people aware that we are still around.

Why not strike while the iron is hot and start now with the aforementioned friendlies?

I went to The Rangers friendly at Ipswich 6 years ago, Rangers brought 5000 fans with them......they are pretty serious!

Not interested. Even if I was, £20 for League 2, standard little better than the Conference, is a rip off

The difference is that in Corby there's at least 5000 Gers supporters already living in the Town.
The Rangers Supporters club situated about half a mile from Rockingham Trangle is the biggest outside Glasgow.

Corby have also signed Matt Rhead from Eastwood Town who caused us some grief in those two FA Trophy games.
I have already decided that I'm going to watch a few of Corby's games in their new stadium next season since it's only a couple of miles from the village where I live. ;)

What village is that, Trek?

I too am going to take in a few Corby games. Especially with Aynsley being there. They have made some shrewd signings this summer, and with them moving into a new stadium its definitely an exciting time to be a Corby fan ;) .

Cottingham. I can see the glow of the stadium lights from my house and it's probably just over a mile as the crow flies but it would mean that I would trespass on Rockingham Castle's estate land to get there.

Gulliver, Burge and McDonald should be on view and I might even bump in to Mrs T. ;)
