The sound has completely gone on my laptop, half an hour ago i could hear stuff fine on youtube etc now it is as of everything is on mute.
My settings show that everything is turned up to 100, also it shows when sound is being picked up. So my laptop knows there is sound, but it is choosing to remain muted for some reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys

Accidently drop the computer downstairs, then claim on the insurance. They'll probably send you out a new one. ;)

Restart it.
If that doesn't work, punch the speakers.

If restarting it didn't work you might need to install new drivers for the sound.

I'm not amazing with computers, it's just what I had to do for one of my old laptops, a friend told me, so I can't actually explain what drivers are. The best place to download them would be the "official" website for the make of laptop you have. Find the model you have and download the sound drivers from there. Sorry I can't explain further, hope that helps. Also have you tried ringing a helpline?
