I think it was Judith that went around and said to me there was 500 or so there, so there was a headcount made by one of us, so in reality I reckon there were probably more than 513 as people were coming in from the rugby side as well, but a great attendance nonetheless.
We won, they lost, we're top - end of !
We'll measure how good we are when we play the likes of Sileby won't we?
I enjoyed my day in Olney yesterday, lovely place, nice and local to me, beautiful weather, great beer/pub (although our numbers did catch the landlady out !!) and but for the bar/post we would have run out 0-3 winners.
Onwards and upwards, looking forward to being back at the D&D for next week, lets hope the weather is kind to us and we get another good turnout and result against what I am expecting to be a very tough Fakenham Town side - next week will be a real tester for us, St Ives could only beat them 1-0 and CRC who they beat in the previous round are a very useful outfit - should be a great game !!
(Edit: just looked at the forecast and its another glorious weekend (fingers crossed this proves to be righthttp://
www.accuweather.com/en/gb/bedford/mk40- ... her/326932 ) spread the word and lets get as many as we can down there, be great to beat the previous home game's attendance - we can do that can't we? ;)

Great turn out, great result, loved it!
Finished off the day with a couple more cold one's from the fridge and a curry! Fantastic day all round, really enjoyed myself. A proud fan, roll on Saturday.
I only had one issue, i did not appreciate the "shoulder barge" given to one of our players in the first 5 mins, he ended up in the crowd, and landed straight onto a child's buggy, could have been nasty, thought the ref should have had a word with the Olney player over that.

Could have been even worse if there had been a bar around the pitch, which there should have been IMO.
I read in their programme that they're not eligible for promotion, or allowed to participate in the Vase or FA Cup because of their ground.

I had a rough count each half, and counted 540 in first half, and 520 in second half (excluding people in the bar), so I reckon the official attendance of 513 was pretty accurate.

Thought that would be the case. I may be wrong but I imagine you have to at least have turnstiles and a few seats to enter the Vase and certainly the Cup. And their programme was very good, extremely professional looking front and inside front cover as well, very impressive.

I seem to remember a similar thing happening at an Exeter game in the conference several years ago with a ball going through a hole in the netting, but this particular incident is far worse seeing as though its in the FA Cup and robbing a non league club of the competition's financial benefits and it would be outrageous if they don't play a replay in such exceptional circumstances.
