Unsurprisingly he fails to mention the nature of the 'injuries' and how their player unnecessarily punted the ball upfield to waste time, but if the accusations there against ELJ are true then obviously he deserves a lengthy ban. Though I imagine there were plenty of players and staff amidst the chaos that deserve lengthy bans, I suppose the ref just saw this particular incident clearly, whereas I imagine it would have been difficult, if not impossible to keep up with everything else that was going on in the brawl, not that I'm defending the ref.

Obviously we'll both get heavy fines, but I didn't realise a points deduction is possible? Have there been any other cases in the SL where a brawl like this has led to points deductions?
"Hanlon, who was sent off during the heated finale, said: “The game is all about opinions but in my eyes that is not how football is run or should be played. It was soul destroying and if they gave the ball back to us then these events wouldn’t have happened."

What a dick!

The onerous challenge for our board / management now is to decide what response to make.

Should they respond to these accusations now they are in "public print" - or decide to avoid comment about this article to avoid pouring petrol on the fire. In that case should they pass comment on the incident itself, advising those who are concerned of the actions they plan to avoid a repeat - or perhaps just advise they plan to wait until the Southern League come up with their findings and any possible punishment.

Given the serious allegation then witnesses ought to be sought etc.

Not giving the ball back isn't in the spirit of the game, but 3 players going down after the goalkeeper blasts the ball into the next county to receive treatment on his back is completely fine.

........when a late challenge in injury time sparked a melee between the teams and the match was abandoned by the referee despite being on the verge of full time.

Errrrrrrm....... When a disgraceful and cowardly tackle from behind perpetrated by a Kings Langley player on Brad Harris saw several of the Home bench launch a full out assault on the Rushden player. The gutless referee who, sensing that things were getting heated didn't have the balls to end the game when he should have, realised he hadn't got a clue how to grasp control of game, bottled it and abandoned the game - the added hours being as a result of too many Langley players rolling around pretending to be injured.

There, corrected for you ;)

No need for our Club to sink to Langley levels & say anything in public. Hanlon behaved like a c..k for the entirety of the game, he has come out and made a noise & accusations on the basis, attack is best form of defence. Off the record I doubt a single person connected with Langley who gives a flying f..k about the game of football would honestly defend the crap that went on from their players throughout the game in relation to simulating injuries (cheating) however they will have to come out and defend / deflect it. Sadly the (INDEPENDENT) assessor for the referee will also be obliged to defend Coco the Clown, so expect his report to contain, good decision making in difficult circumstances, the correct amount of time added (this is the Man who couldn't even get the game started on time) dealing well with the situation after our goal, after all Refs expect to have hands waved in their faces, fingers pushed up their noses and being called, I witnessed it so I can quote "a useless c bomb". As well as forgetting to mention when Coco restated the game following the near fatal 3 injuries he at no point instructed our players to return the ball to the opposition. Langley will make a lot of noise as is often the case with those in the wrong and the nett result will be, big fines for both Clubs, result stands, and a massive endorsement for the match officials for tracking down ELJ and handing out a red card coupled with failing to book the player who cleaned Brad out from behind (used to be a red card) and the entire bench who then systematically laid into him. In summary, Langley (possibly under instruction) spent the entire game wasting time, the Ref lost the match along with the plot and unfortunately some of our people lost their heads following 90 mins of provocation.

So we're all looking forward to the home game against them then.

I was thinking, if we got a points deduction it'd be pointless replaying the game really. It would probably just all boil over again.

I was just kidding about having to go back there, I still think the result will stand, a little worried the suits might nick points off us though !!

I nearly forgot actually, not one of his most notable cock ups of the game, but I commented at half time when the same said clown only added on 90 seconds of injury time at the end of the first half, despite there being a good 2-3 minutes wasted retrieving the only inflated ball in the ground, not to mention a booking, a goal, and the other normal 'injury' stoppages.
