The Thrapston away attendance of 430 annoyed me for some reason, seemed at least 500 there that day. So when i was told the attendance was announced as 301 at Raunds today (this could be wrong) i had a quick tot up, i counted just over 100 on the far side behind the dugouts in the second half, behind the goal and the side of the pitch near the club house had many more people on them. Sad, i know.

The attendance was 560 according to the match report which sounds about right. Apparently one of our officials was told 301 by Raunds at half time which seemed very wrong.

Absolutely fantastic day, super weather and not a bad game, just a bit one sided...Full credit to the lads on the win, it was basically over by half time but still they battled in the second half...Oadby losing just topped it off, full steam ahead to tuesday and hopefully the party will then begin
Ive mentioned it before and i will say it again, for me the jake and alfie partnership aint working, and its sad to say they do have the potential to form a good force. All you hear if jake has it near the box "jake, jake" and then Newman will miss. Its the same as jake is constantly shouting "Alfie"... They are two very good strikers imo but to selfish, if they actually worked as a team then there would be more fluency going forward, thats just how i feel...
There were about 5 Raunds fans by the toilet block on the side which made me chuckle. It finally took Raunds 60 odd minutes (at a guess) to blaze their first shot over where one of them chanted "We're Raunds town, and we've had a shot"
When the diamonds lads were behind the goal singing we are going up, they replied by chanting "you'll still play away, you'll still play away, where's your ground gone, you'll still play away

Too funny
Hope the older man is ok who had a nasty looking fall by the refreshment bar...I saw it from a distance but full credit to Colin who was one the scene sharpish...Who is the young lady who accompanies him?

It was really impressive to see how well the lads coped with the rearranged defensive formation. I thought Jake Gillingwater was able to influence the play more from a central role, and you can see why he is a frustrated midfielder with the quality of some of his through balls - and his assists. Sam Brown made an impressive return from injury, and King and McBride look a good partnership when we are dominating play. I thought the ref deserved a mention too for a much better game - he could easily have booked Aaron King, but interpreted a couple of his challenges as "firm but fair".
