However, I should point out that the original comment was NOT made by Lee Phillips - he simply re-tweeted it and laughed at it.
No problem with that Df, apologies for making your life a bit harder this Sunday afternoon ;)

Have seen the comment myself, and it wasn't Lee who made the comment (he even said it himself in a later tweet)
Not surprising K*ttering fans didn't realise, cos they aren't the brightest bunch are they?!

Yes by all means take the piss out of KTFC, I got no problem with that, but disrepectful to bring the Spastics Society into it.
I have to say this is the worst bit for me as well. Ridiculing KTFC is to be expected, football rivalry and all that, but football it is about community and inclusion so to reference (how they word it )spastics society is indeed a very poor choice of derision. There is alot of work that has gone into setting up a football league so that the many disabled children and teenagers in our local area get the chance to play football, which would normally not be accessible to them and this is just the sort of discrimination we are trying to overcome.
I see there is a couple of comments on the Diamonds Forum referring to this tweet, obviously not in disagreement with this opinion. I just wonder how the South Rushden Community Football Club disability team coach and volunteers will feel about this?
They may need to revise their stance of being a community club! Quite how some people on here give that bastardisation of a club any credit is beyond me. The classless diamonds legacy lives on with that reincarnation. Despite being a pub team, Theyve made a lot of noise in the past year or so and I'm sure there will be a few people From K*ttering waiting for the day that Ketterings path crosses theirs in whatever form
Taken from Ploppynet..............it still amazes me that they can't see their own failings and still blame us for ecerything.......they call us classless, but we weren't the ones spitting on OAP's in their stand.............look in a mirror boys, before throwing any crap our way...................I so wish KFC all the luck in the world, at least the people behind that club have a touch of class 8-)

I'll repeat, Rockingham Road is the only ground where I've had someone threaten my life after the game, only ground with missiles propelled into away stand from outside the ground, only ground where home fans have tried to attack our fans in a seated section rather than terrace, and so many other things!
Best of luck to KFC if they have gotten rid of those, very numerous, clowns.

I think the thinly veiled threat at the bottom of the poppynet post pasted above suggests that KTFC is still afflicted with them. It's quite odd that they accuse us of being classless, despite all the initiatives our club has brought in, and how many of our fans have stayed loyal to the club despite what happened - and yet theirs are deserting in droves at the time the club needs as many possible fans so it can survive week-to-week.

Desertion of KTFC is understandable at this point, if you go to KFC as many (sensible and rational) people seem to have done.
KTFC's problem is everyone just gives up, and has a go at the few who have tried to get KFC going!

Not only that - they also have a go at the four or five people who are trying to keep KTFC going.
I think the lean years at R&DFC weeded out the negative sorts that can drag a club down - so we are left with such a positive bunch of fans, intent on building something worthwhile, that you can tell they envy with a vengeance.

Well summed up and supported by the game and atmosphere yesterday 8-)
I must admit that I took the last lines in the thread I pasted as a veiled threat of violence too, but then what would you expect from some of their fans?

:o

This pretty sums up the lack of class from that defunct club. Anybody who endorses that tweet is just as bad. They go on about losing Dale Roberts but who named a stand after him?
That showed a touch of class from us and we get this vile stuff back.
Pathetic!
Lack of class!, lack of class!, oh sorry I didn't realise it was us dancing on our own graves when we finished and it was us celebrating when they moved into NP, oh and we were so thankful to the landlord renaming the Peter debanke stand the dale Roberts end as it was done for all the right reasons!
They lack so much class the majority of their decent fans have walked out not able to stomach the lies, and horrendous business practices of the club.
I suggest they ought to concentrate on 18th dec rather than smoke screening about other people.
If they spent as much effort rallying support and coming together rather than alienating people who don't agree with the point of view perhaps they would stand a chance of being saved
