Yes Tony, that £60k loan which the brewery gave to the Steelman caused problems within the Council since the Council's previous Chief Executive and the now deceased leader of the Labour controlled Council agreed on behalf of the Council that they stand as guarantors for the loan without the knowledge or approval of Council members.
I also agree that there is a lesson to be learnt in getting locked in with breweries.
The other problem the Steelmen have is that they are fully responsible for the costs of the complete complex including the Rockingham Triangle Stadium which they use for training on Monday and Wednesday evenings. I was told, on the evening of our Youth match, that the Corby Athletic Club's lease of 25 years, which incidentally I was a co-signatory of in the late 80's ;) , has now expired but they been allowed to continue to use the facilities and their club room located above the football club bar, on Tuesday, Thursday evenings and Sundays mornings. The floodlights alone would be consuming a fair bit of electricity during the winter period.
You can now see why Kevin Ingram may be open to a formal ground share with KTFC or maybe I suggest, a merger, North Northants United anyone?

It seems a bit of a mad barrelledge deal to have a fine imposed for not meeting the target, they usually have a deal that if you meet the target them you qualify for the retrospective discount, if not then you don't. Maybe this is the "fine" in question?
As for KTFC, they now have RitchieJ underwriting their costs? Have they learned anything during this period about moneymen?

If they do have a group willing to take over from Ladick, I would suggest that Ritchie may be central to it. Why else, you must ask yourself, would he be willing to personally cover any shortfall on Saturday? He only appeared on the scene after Sausage got involved so hardly a long time supporter in the same vein as Ken Samuel.

You get the feeling that maybe RitchieJ is one part of the 2 investors that Sadact said he was trying to get together to complete the deal.

Even Kevin, KTFC's ex secretary who now resides in New Zealand, is now saying this.

This is Corby Town we're talking about?
Based in Corby?
Cor-full of Scots-by?
What was the target? Ten barrels per head per match?

Small bar, poor crowds, fizzy beer, no real ale, edge of town and not open in the evening. Work it out for yourself.
There's a Weatherspoons about half a mile away and a Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club about a mile away. I heard even the Rangers clubhouse has suffered over the last few years.
Nobody frequented Strikers when RDFC opened it in the evenings 5-6 years ago.
