While the behaviour of the KL players, and some of ours I'm sad to say, was not in any way the referee's fault, I do agree with the above. We were absolutely amazed when no one other than Hanlon was sent off or even booked during the first brawl following our equaliser, and had the ref got a grip of things at that point there's a slight chance the ensuing melee could have been avoided.

I think we had every right to carry on playing, to be fair to the ref yes he had lost control but even he was aware of what KL players were up to that's why I'm sure I heard him say we don't need a physio. So fair play to the lads for having the character and playing on, great scenes when we scored and a very satisfying moment. The tackle right in front of there bench was a disgrace, then the mass brawl, Yes he could of sent many off, the reason he sent ELJ off as he was on the bench and ran 60 yards in front of the lino to join in the mass brawl but as did many others including their gk,

I hope the results stands but we've already shown the SL up so we'll wait and see

To be honest given what happened to Corby last season - going down to Truro to replay a game that was abandoned after 86 minutes - I fully expect us to have to replay the game. The only positives I can't think of that outcome would be that we could go back down there and play with an attacking mind-set rather than what we did on Tuesday, probably with a fit Claudiu Hoban who has now missed both games against KL.

No telling what the suits will do, but both clubs will face severe penalties, I'm just hoping and praying a points deduction isn't applied. If it were the FA Cup/Trophy we'd both be chucked out of the competition.

Neither side covered themselves in glory, but the instigators of the violence were definitely Kings Langley, but our retaliation will definitely land us in trouble and it's something we are going to have to learn from.

I'm expecting a fine, a lengthy ban for Elliott and a points deduction !! They will throw the book at us given the chance - I do expect the result to stand though.

If the Southern League deduct us points just to prove they are in charge then they will have to do the same to KL too surely??

Too early to say what the final outcome will be. After all I suspect the SL are still considering the referee's report before deciding whether to level charges against us and KL.

I guess our match photos and AFCRD video will be embargoed for the time being.

Although no comfort to Jack. Our winning streak can continue towards the current 11 game record.

With the possibility of only one league match in the next month we will drop down the league a few places.

Ritchie Hanlon's view on the matter:

http://m.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/13 ... andonment/

Unsurprisingly he fails to mention the nature of the 'injuries' and how their player unnecessarily punted the ball upfield to waste time, but if the accusations there against ELJ are true then obviously he deserves a lengthy ban. Though I imagine there were plenty of players and staff amidst the chaos that deserve lengthy bans, I suppose the ref just saw this particular incident clearly, whereas I imagine it would have been difficult, if not impossible to keep up with everything else that was going on in the brawl, not that I'm defending the ref.

Obviously we'll both get heavy fines, but I didn't realise a points deduction is possible? Have there been any other cases in the SL where a brawl like this has led to points deductions?
