Trek wrote:Very good point about away support BR. Interesting to note that Poole Town had a crowd of 2203 for their match against Corby yesterday, who took 600+, and still ended up with an average of only 450. We've a far better average than all those at the top of the Southern League Premier, with the exception of Weymouth who have always had decent home support.
Here's the latest table, but usually takes a few days for the UCL attendances to be entered:-

Not been mentioned but great to see Max and Stephen Griggs in attendance yesterday who both stayed to the end to see the final celebrations and photograph taken. ;)
Yesterdays match takes our average attendance to 549 and would place us 50th.
A total of 10981 fans for the season at Step 5 is fantastic.

Confirmed 50th place, increase of 16.77% over last season's attendances.

Increase you say Trek, that means more people than last season I believe.
Where are all the fools that moaned about the crowds now?

In fairness, there aren't any.
It's fantastic we saw a boost in the crowds towards the tail end of the season, and the final average gives us a great base to meet the challenge of retaining those who came for the big games and ensure that we get as close to 549 for as many games as possible at Step 4.

If any further proof were needed that the best supported clubs are the most successful:
All of the following topped their respective divisions and average crowd stats.
Barrow Conf N
Bromley Conf S
FC Utd NPL
Maidstone Ryman
K*ttering SLC
Merthyr SLSW
Bristol Rovers were 2nd in Conference
Darlington 1884 were 2nd in NL1N
Harlow were 2nd in Ryman N
The only exceptions were Weymouth who despite being top of crowds only finished 7th, Guernsey who only finished 10th and Stafford who finished 6th in their respective leagues.
Oh and who finished top of Step 5 crowds?

I make this the top 10:
1.) AFC Rushden & Diamonds - 550
2.) Worksop Town – 425
3.) North Shields - 392
4.) Runcorn Linnets – 363
5.) Glossop North End – 338
6.) Whitley Bay – 326
7.) Tadcaster Albion - 309
8.) 1874 Northwich – 307
9.) Bishop Auckland – 243
10.) Consett – 226
We weren't even close to having the top Step 5 crowd of the season. An unbelievable 1,453 saw South Shields 3-0 Whitley Bay on 8th April.
The UCL will be comfortably one of the poorer Step 5 leagues in terms of attendances next season. The Essex Senior League and Spartan South Midlands League are marginally worse.
The Northern League has 4 sides in that top 10 above (North Shields, Whitley Bay, Bishop Auckland & Consett). The North West Counties League has 3 (Glossop, Runcorn & Northwich). The Northern Counties East League has 2 (Worksop & Tadcaster) and of course 1 from the UCL.
All northern sides except us.

Both Glossop North End and North Shields crowds improved in the last 6 weeks due to them reaching the FA Vase Final.

That's great/excellent to get a top 50 attendance place.

Well said Mad Dog, couldn't agree with you anymore, we won't/didn't moan. A very good increase and a very, very good average of 550.

I think our first season's average was 544 so that's very consistent.
