Just saw Tommo score a brilliant almost Bale-esque goal for Peterborough, they went down in the end though.

Stamford did well. At one stage they were losing 2-0 at Belper. Took the match to Extra Time and finally won 4-2.

Wayne Hatswell's Stamford AFC gain promotion tonight by beating Chasetown 2-1 in the NPL Div 1 South play off final and will join King's Lynn in the NPL.

Just watched some highlights of Newport Play-off final congratulations to Justin and Aaron on their place in league two next year.
Justin proved what we all thought, he can produce a winning team and get promotion .

I went to Stamford V Chasetown. Attendance was 860 I think, which included a healthy away following. It was a good night and a new ground for me. I think the best team probably won although it was extremely even as you'd expect.
Simon Brown came on for Chasetown. Anyone remember him?

For a step 4 game it was far better than the step 3 games I saw this season. Chasetown seemed to run out of steam in the second half, after controlling the game from when they scored until half-time. I'm not sure bringing Simon Brown on when you need a goal to save the game is likely to bring much success. The Daniels had ex-Diamond David Staff on the bench - and I wonder if Joe Hopewell who is also there will get much chance in the first team now they are in the NPL (assuming they don't get switched back to the SPL).
