Just got home. What a result. Incredible first 20 mins. Pathetic penalty decision but lads withstood all Concord could muster in the second half. Three amazing saves by Finners for MOM . If any one of them had gone in the final result could have been quite different, as they would have had something to fight for and we might have got jittery..

Only negatives Buntings stupid Red Card and injury to Oulton. Both could miss next round.

Ploppies win 2-1 so its over to Latimer Park on Tuesday.

Is it not this round the conference premier teams come in? Just for the big name Salford or FC United of Manchester... if conference then a trip to Lincoln city's sincil bank would be fine by me :good:

Isn't it a regionalised draw?

That first 20 minutes or so was the best footbal I have ever seen from a Diamonds side in any game. We simply blew them away with the 3 goals and they were unable to get out of their own half!

The suface was perfect for quick high tempo passing football and that's exactly what we did. Concord were totally shell shocked and for a team with out a home goal let a lone win so far this season it was always going to be an near on impossible task to get back into the game. Couldn't see the penalty incident so can't comment whether it was a good or poor decision. But 3-1 flattered them at half time!

2nd half Finlay made some excellent saves but we could have increased the lead by at least 2, having hit the wood work twice. The look on their players faces as they trudged off at the final whistle told it's own story, Concord fans and players are in for a long hard season!

Onto the next round for us anyway, personally I'd like Felixstowe and Walton away (they beat Bishop Stortford at home which is a bit of "giant killing") 1. Because they play the same level as the UCL Prem 2. It's 20 minutes from my house!

Failing that a nice easy(ish) team at home for the next 2 rounds and then Bolton, Portsmouth or Blackpool away in the first round proper. Not that I'm counting my chickens obviously!

Any news on Oulton's injury?

Delighted that we made it through so convincingly. Made missing it more bearable! Well done to all on a fantastic achievement.

Conference Premier teams don't enter until the 4th Qualifying Round. I believe this round is regionalised North/South, but given we've had Dover and Ashton United at this stage we could be in either half, so realistically it could be anyone.

The Leek game on 1sr Oct is now postponed to accomodate this.
