One thing I will say is that I'm confused by how the team was laid out. We had 4 (I believe McNulty is central?) central midfielders on and 2 centre forwards. Pushing Tom Lorraine out to play on the wing - out of his favoured position - was baffling. Losing Richards and Hoban has already had a negative effect on the team - Evangelinos hasn't looked great and we're playing Tom on the right! With last year's service Nabil would be having a field day.

woefull,,,,,out played....out thought...out fought .....out bossed.....out of our depth
as for finishing second/losing........don't mind at all,as long as we give it a bloody good go(and play half decent)
we didn't look sharp, and I don't think some of our lads are up to this league,by that, I mean physicaly,,,,,,,and fitness didn't look great.
not panicking yet,but I think mid table is all we will achieve
cmon boys please, please, please, prove me wrong :hmmm:

Mid-table wouldn't be a bad thing this year, with the whole ground issue and the fact that this league is clearly of a higher quality than the southern league. There's no point splashing loads of cash only to be told we can't be promoted due to the ground.

I largely agree with that, I did think we looked a bit out of our depth in the second half, very early days at this point, but I get the sense that the team we put out on Tuesday night wouldn't finish higher than mid-table in this league, it seems to be really lacking the quality our previous sides have had, players like Hoban, Quigley, Richards, Bowen, and going further back like Gearing and Confue. Hopefully Oulton and Curtis can come in and make a difference to this side.

And by the way, really liked the fixtures flyer that was put together, very professional looking :good: Although I did notice one tiny error, I'm fairly sure it's not 62 miles from the D&D to Rugby unless Rugby have moved 30 miles away since I last looked!

Wondered when somebody would notice that. :fool:

Thanks though.
