Very honest assessment from Peaksy as always - you can see that hurt him as much as it did us !
Let's hope for a massive improvement against Barton Rovers!!

A couple of opportunities where there was 4 people in the box and Claudio goes for the shot instead. Slightly frustrating. No Richards highlights either though!

Did he play? Yes you're right I've checked the report but his appearance I must have overlooked. I've avoided posting before now I've cooled down but it was dreadful. The only player who comes out with any credit is once again Jack Ashton and he sounded in his interview how I felt after the match. He should be our captain! I'm getting frustrated with Stevo and am now missing the maligned Tommy Berwick, as least he moved about trying to getting involved. I'm afraid Jon, notwithstanding his experience and obvious skill, appears to be a luxury in a struggling side and is waiting for things to happen rather than trying to influence the game. Our players need to roll their sleeves up and get back to matching, our keen, organised and youthful opponents as we are now getting outworked too often. Tom Lorraine works hard but guilty of a bad miss in the second half and lacks composure. It was a soft goal to concede but it's not a particular problem with our the defence as just a couple of, albeit vital, goals conceded in the last 4 games demonstrates. More effort, creativity and improved decision making from midfield and in the final third/opponents penalty box is needed.
Good honest interview by Peaksy but I can't remember if that was before or after Jaff grilled him and Lambie.

I find it strange that you're singling out Hoban for criticism again. Although he's been below his best in the last two games, he's been our only attacking player who's shown any positivity or creativity, and only Ashton and Lorraine have matched/bettered him in terms of effort. He's even been tracking back and putting tackles in.
If you're going to single anyone out, I can think of at least half a dozen players who deserve your criticism more than he does.

I just find players like him incredibly frustrating. He has the ability to get the ball to other players in the box but he just chooses not to. Fair enough that I might be being a bit harsh but in a time where the team need to be playing as a unit more than ever, he just wants to do his own thing and steal the headlines. I wonder how many more goals we could have scored if he'd be prepared to play for the team instead of himself.

In Richards' defence he got himself into some really excellent form, missed one game and then couldn't get back in the side which I didn't think was a smart move. IIRC the same thing happened with Jason Turner last season.
Agree with your comments about Stevenson though, after a fantastic start his effort and performance levels have dropped drastically.

I understand some people's frustration at Hoban but seriously he is our only positive attacking option at the moment. Let's not forget that only a very very good save from their keeper stopped it from being 1-1. I thought that the 2 centre halves played well, if I was being critical I would say that finlay should have done better with the goal for the second week running.

Players like Claudiu Hoban get you out of your seat, and make you feel like whatever you pay is worth it for some of the quality you see. He may be frustrating sometimes but I'd rather support a team with a Claudiu Hoban than a semi-pro James Milner.

I personally disagree, I much prefer watching team moves as opposed to an individual.
