Good all over the pitch, the one with the hardest job being Finners as at one point I`m sure he was using binoculars to see what was happening as it was going n so far away from him. Bunts and Quigley dominated the middle even though for most of it Bedford had an extra man in there, also a new PB for Bunts, consecutive matches without a yellow. Tommy B was superb, on and off the ball. And would put that performance down as our best 90mins so far, Bedford were not good but that I felt was down to us being very good, never easy to play football when the very rude opposition never let you have the ball, they are no mugs and have had a decent start to the season a win would have given them their best start in 15 seasons, was a bit of negative garbage from a few Eagles fans but most, including a very honest Tweet from the assistant Manager Wes Byrne " Don`t like losing games, but we were well beaten today, AFCRD are a good side all over the park" accepted they were outplayed and got out of jail with 2-0. Only down side for me was the score not reflecting the dominant performance 6-0 would have been about right, and the weather keeping the crown down as a performance like that would have insured any pop down to have a look customers were likely to return again in the near future.

27 unbeaten now. One more for a new club record.
Tommy Berwick yet to be on a losing side.
If we remain unbeaten until the Jan 5th anniversary we will be in the 3rd round of the FA Cup........well I can dream can't I?

It was my first game of the season yesterday and I was thoroughly impressed with the performance - 2-0 certainly flattered Bedford. We look strong across the back, and Bunts and Quigley clearly have a great understanding. I'd like to see ELJ given a start on Saturday - think him and Hoban on the wings will cause teams plenty of problems. Tommy and Joseph upfront looks like a partnership that could develop well, we saw that on a few occasions last year (Welly and Sileby to name a couple). When things really click in front of goal, a team in this league is going to get a real hiding - NGU on Saturday anyone?

Very in depth report on the game posted on the Bedford Town web site it reads, "Bedford were beaten 2-0 away against AFC Rushden & Diamonds, the team move down to 7th". If you want a full report on a Eagles match you have to hope they have won as above is the going rate when beaten. Though they have managed to move themselves up to 6th in the segment of league table shown on the home page, by removing us completely.
Delighted to say Bedford have now dropped to 7th and they have reinstated us back into the league in 2nd place.

A couple of cracking photos in that lot, the look on the face of the Bedford played as he`s about to attempt a leg break on Courtney, no wonder CH came off with a shredded sock and 2 holes in his shin, the other Scotty with both hands raised and a look skyward, guess that one meant a lot to him given his recent loss.
