Great idea, let's go and sign at least 10 new players all with minimum 2/3 leagues higher experience, to cover the costs we may need a rich benefactor to throw money at a dream, and what ever we do don't worry about what may happen in 5/10 years time. Oh s.it been there done that haven't we, if that's what people want this is possibly the wrong team & forum. I presume Oundle Diamond 2 you wear a bright coloured jacket, shoes that are 3 times the size of your feet and drive a car that the doors & wheels fall of at the pull of a lever not to mention your revolving bow tie and water squirting button hole carnation.Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:Two MOMs in two starts for a player signed with pedigree.
Do you not think we could do with some more signings like Claudiu Diamond_Wolf? These four games have clearly shown we can perform brilliantly at this level, especially if we get our squad right. For me, that's getting some more players on the level of Claudiu. Personally, I think it's clear that we need a striker. Maybe a few more positions too. Looking upwards after a great start, but can get better.

I'd settle for 3/4 with higher league experience to replace the players that clearly aren't good enough and are only here for "loyalty", as long as it doesn't put us at financial risk of course.
One idea, can we loan players at this level? We could get young players from local academies?

I was paraphrasing Brownie's suggestion of 2/3 levels higher league experience. There's no need to be pedantic when in my eyes there is a debate to be had for fans between how we balance "loyalty" and vision.bozzer wrote:I've got a few with higher league experience, Hoban, Spriggs, Berwick, Lorraine, Bunting, Quigley, Herbert, Dolman, Ashton, Wilkinson, Finlay, Gordon......oh!Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:I'd settle for 3/4 with higher league experience

I don't often agree with anything you say but in this occasion you're spot on.Brownie wrote:Great idea, let's go and sign at least 10 new players all with minimum 2/3 leagues higher experience, to cover the costs we may need a rich benefactor to throw money at a dream, and what ever we do don't worry about what may happen in 5/10 years time. You're knocked out with who I am,
Look at you now, you're all in my hands.

6 of those are new and 6 were already here, what a great balance of vision and loyalty if you ask me.Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:I was paraphrasing Brownie's suggestion of 2/3 levels higher league experience. OD#2, you do spout a lot of rubbish most of the time. But fair play to you if you have the ability to know a player is good enough for the level they are playing at after four games a job as a Premier League scout surely beckons

Don't forget that OD#2 has told how he rarely attends games as he learns all he needs to know about our squad from the highlights video :oSouthRushdenJFC wrote:OD#2, you do spout a lot of rubbish most of the time. After 4 games unbeaten I am amazed and saddened that this discussion is even taking place!
Of the players retained from last season which ones are considered not good enough? If anything Sam is playing his best ever footie.
Of the new ones we have not even seen Wilkinson or Kilbride yet. Of the others I admit I am yet to be impressed by a couple of them, but it is still early days.
